Margaret Wiebe

Margaret Wiebe (nee Penner) passed away peacefully with her family by her side Wednesday, December 25, 2019, in White Rock, BC. She was born in 1926, near Plum Coulee, MB.

Margaret and Peter celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 2014. She was predeceased by her husband Peter and her son Lawrence and survived by her other children Raymond, Myra, and Gordon, their spouses, eight grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.

Margaret had nine siblings: Mary, Agnes, Neil (all deceased), Kay, Helen (deceased), Anne, Sarah (deceased), Sadie, and Martha.

Margaret enjoyed caring for her family and desired to extend that care to others. She always wanted to do what she could to help those in need. While her youngest children were in their mid-teens she attended Red River Community College, completed her nurse’s training, and began working at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg.

Despite a congenital heart defect and heart surgery Margaret always worked tirelessly. After her time at the Grace, she and Peter moved to White Rock, BC. Margaret always had a desire to have her own business.  In BC they bought a care facility for residents with intellectual disabilities and operated it for 10 years - until her health no longer allowed her to continue.

Margaret loved the Lord, her Saviour, talked to Him about the many decisions she had to make in her life, and prayed for her family every day.
