Rosita ‘Inday’ Alcordo
August 9th, 2020
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our wife, mother, sister and friend, Rosita ‘Inday’ Alcordo on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at 1:36 PM in Vancouver, Canada.
She died peacefully at 73 years old, surrounded by her dear family – husband, Priscilo ‘Loly’ Alcordo, sons Francene and Basil, niece Eldrizah Alo-Empuerto and her daughter, Mira.
Inday was a graduate midwife from Aloran, Misamis Occidental, The Philippines, and immigrated to Vancouver in 1975. Her fiancé at the time, Loly, a native of the Philippine province of Cebu later followed in 1977, and they were married in Vancouver on September 3, 1977.
Inday spent the better part of her career at George Pearson Centre in Vancouver, where she used her kind heartedness to care for patients as a Residential Care Aide, and later moved on to work at the facility's Central Supply Department toward the tail end of her career.
Outside of work, Inday was active in her community, as she was an active member of the GIMILAMI Filipino Canadian Christian Society of British Columbia. She was also a dedicated and devoted member of a church choir that originated at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, where it was her pleasure to share her love of music as an Alto singer. Needless to say, much of what she pursued in life stemmed from her strong faith in God.
She is survived by her husband Loly and sons Francene and Basil in Canada, her five siblings abroad, as well as countless other relatives in Canada, the Philippines, and scattered throughout the world.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence for the family.
