Harold Mervin Hanna

"For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand, I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:" (2 Timothy 4:6-7) "I press toward the mark for the prize of high calling of God in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:14) Br. Harold Hanna was a man of God who walked with God. He always was a kind gentle encourager like Barnabas, with the Incredible zeal of Apostle Paul and with the Heart of Christ. He always had time to stop by and pray together, reaching out to the lost souls, knocking on door to door. Even to local high school students, international students who were here for short term, Br. Hanna was always ready to lead them to Christ. Even to the Seamen whom you may never have chance to see again. I still remember his kind, gentle Christ like heart even years after first meeting him many years ago. Thank you Br. Hanna. And most of all, I thank to our LORD for the privilege of meeting Harold and kind and warm fellowship in Christ while on the Emmaus Road. Warm regards, Christopher Park

Dear Hanna Family May the Lord comfort you in the homegoing of your father. How he loved His Saviour! As a neighbor I would meet him from time to time. That smile and a firm hand shake and the how are you conversation, but quickly it would slide to things relating to the soul, spiritual thoughts and food, the work they were seeking to do at Carlton, and the preciousness of the person and work of Christ and the need to bring all our friends and neighbors into the blessing of links with the Lord Jesus Christ where He can be known and proved now on the other side of death. Somehow your parent's house had an unchanging and stable character to it, and to even just drive by and think of them lifted my spirits. I appreciated to the continued faithful preaching of the true gospel of the grace of God by Carlton Gospel Hall of which he and his family were an important part of. My sisters appreciated this too and experienced some blessing from the saints there. Looking forward may you all be encouraged to move ahead in confidence in God, in His precious word and promises, and (despite their apparent outward weakness) the people of God and the House of God which is being built in our day. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For consider your calling, brethren, that [there are] not many wise according to flesh, not many powerful, not many high-born. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world, that he may put to shame the wise; and God has chosen the weak things of the world, that he may put to shame the strong things; and the ignoble things of the world, and the despised, has God chosen, [and] things that are not, that he may annul the things that are; so that no flesh should boast before God. But of him are *ye* in Christ Jesus, who has been made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness, and holiness, and redemption; that according as it is written, He that boasts, let him boast in [the] Lord.
