Gordon Callum (Cal) Hutton
With his family by his side, Callum Hutton passed away peacefully on November 12, 2023. He will be lovingly remembered and missed immensely by his wife of 40 years, Lee Fraser; his children Greg (Stephanie), Jeff (Lauren), and Jamie; his beloved grandchildren Jeremy, Emma, Maëlle, and Beau; his siblings Heather Begin (Paul) and Ian (Laura); and numerous extended family members.
Cal was born in North Vancouver on December 23, 1957, where his passion for sports and the outdoors began. He was an avid skier, mountaineer, golfer, and baseball player. Cal met the love of his life, Lee, on holiday in Hawaii in 1980, and they married in 1983. He joined the RCMP in 1980 and began his 27-year career in Alberta, where he and Lee started their family and made lifelong friends. Cal was heavily involved in sports and coaching with all his children and, his grandchildren. He transferred to the Richmond RCMP Detachment in 1997 and worked there until retirement. He found his happy place at Kings Links, where he enjoyed golfing and spending time with his many friends.
Cal loved to travel and visited Australia, Europe, Hong Kong, India, Mexico, and more. He had a great sense of humour which was shown by his unflinching support of the Vancouver Canucks. He was also a lifelong BC Lions fan. Cal’s greatest love and joys included his family, golf, baseball, and especially being a loving dad and grampa. So many relatives and friends will miss Cal dearly.
In lieu of flowers, Cal has requested donations to BC Lung Foundation or KidSport Delta.
We invite everyone who loved and was touched by Cal to join us in a celebration of his life on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the Harris Barn in Ladner, BC, 4140 Arthur Drive.

We will always remember those years assisting Cal when our sons played baseball, great memories. Saw less of Cal & Lee in the following years but always looked him up when at Kings Links. We see Lee once in a while in Ladner. His passing gives us pause, we have not retired yet but another reason why we shouldn’t delay too much longer. We will certainly attempt to attend the celebration of Cal’s life once announced. Steven wants to attend as well. Saddened at his passing.

I watched Cal get up and down from 155 yards out on #2 at Old Macdonald, Brandon Dunes with a putter. Cal you sure couldn’t chip but you were the best long putter I ever saw. I’ll miss you very much. Neil Bidewell
So sorry to hear this just the other day. Callum had an oversized effect on me growing up across the street on Belvista. You had to compete with the Hutton boys! His passion for sports rubbed off on me very early and it's been a lifetime of sporting fun and friendships ever since. Rest in peace Callum... Today, on your birthday, I treasure all the moments we spent together. I feel so blessed that you were a part of my life. There are no goodbyes for us. Wherever you are, you will always be in my heart. Cal, you were the backbone of your family and supported Lee, Greg, Jeff, Jamie and their families in so many ways. They, will miss you everyday, however, I know you will never disappear from their lives. You will merely be in a different room. I love you Cal …. until we meet again.
I’m sending all my love to Cal’s family especially his beloved wife, Lee. He is not suffering anymore and has returned to the ancestors where he waits for his cherished wife.
I worked with Cal in the early 80s and remember both he and Lee well. He was a valued member of the team. My sincere condolences to Lee and family.
Condolence to the family. Cal and I went thru elementary and high school together. I remember attending his birthday parties as a kid and as I think of him now I have some good and funny memories of him. RIP.

I am very sorry to hear of Cal's Passing, as published in the North Shore News on December 20th. I attended Canyon Heights Elementary and Handsworth Secondary Schools with Cal. I got to know Cal even better when we were Roommates at Constable Randy Herman's Home, in Port Coquitlam 1979-80, while we were both attending SFU. I remember how excited Cal was when he got called to RCMP Training at Depot, Regina, in the Spring of 1980. I finished at SFU that Summer. I would stop into visit Cal at Banff Detachment, where the Member's Lounge was like Lodge! Later, I would visit Cal & Lee, at their home in Canmore. He would always give me the Highway Report, as I was traveling for Business. The last time I saw Cal was at Corporal Randy Herman's Celebration of Life, in Maple Ridge, February 20, 2006. I knew Cal was working in Richmond, at the Airport then, but we lost touch, after that. Please Let Me Know the Details of Cal's Celebration-of-Life, Planned for March 2024, when they are Finalized. I was so saddened to hear that Callum had passed away. A massive hole has been left in the Hutton/Fraser family with him gone way too young and our love and support (from afar) goes to the whole family. Callum and I were first cousins, his Dad (Joe) and my Dad (Walter) were brothers who emigrated from Scotland to different parts of the world in the early 1950's) and I am so pleased that I made three trips from New Zealand to Canada (1979, 1997 and 2019) and spend some quality time with Callum on all three trips, just so sorry that we will not meet again on my next as yet unplanned trip. Rest in peace Callum, miss you cousin.

We are so happy Cal had such a full life with you, family and friends. He was taken far too soon, but hopefully a blessing to all of you that he is no longer suffering. In a sense Cal is still here with us through your children, grandchildren and most of all in your heart and memories. I can't help but think that his wonderful smile lives on... I'm smiling right now picturing him. Sue and I will be on Vancouver Island over March & April at Yellow Point. We look forward to Cal's celebration of life - hopefully we will be able to attend and share some special moments with all of you.
So saddened by the loss of Cal. He was such an amazing person. One in a million! I will forever remember his kindness and goofiness! Us Farand's and Hutton's had so many amazing times together which I will always remember. Dad and Cal being goofy together, dancing in the kitchen and on the beach in Mexico. RIP Cal.

I was a troop mate of Cals and although I haven’t seen him in over 40 years I still vividly recall him as a very friendly person who was well liked & respected by all his troop mates . Lee and family, I am so sorry to hear about Cal's passing. I found about the celebration of life this morning. I had intended to be present but was given the wrong date. Judi and I were in the mall a few weeks ago when I heard some one behind me say I thing I know you ,you were my brother's umpire. When I turned around standing behind me was a beautiful young lady by the name of "Jamie" Lee, Greg, Jeff, Jamie we will keep you in our prayers. Bobby o & Judith
