Ronald 'Ron' Stanley Mitchell
March 5, 2025

It is with our deepest sorrow, that the Mitchell family announces, our beloved Ron, passed peacefully surrounded by his adoring family, March 5th, 2025, at Vancouver General Hospital.
Ron was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on April 4th, 1964, and grew up in British Columbia. He was a nomad by choice, especially in later years once his two boys left home. Both he and Deanne ‘on the road’ happily living out of a suitcase, traveling for work and pleasure. Life was a grand adventure!
Ron bravely battled with tongue cancer and the corrective surgery. After surgery, he inspired his neighbouring post-op patients and nurses around him with his strong will and vibrant personality, all without saying a word. Sadly, Ron succumbed six days after surgery due to complications, a month short of his 61st birthday.
Ron will be lovingly remembered by his best friend and wife of 34 years, Deanne, and adoring sons Jason and Steven.
Ron was predeceased by his parents Ronald and Ethel (Frankie) Mitchell.
Survived by and fondly remembered by his sister Catherine (Albert) DeWolff, nephew Scott (Katie) and nieces Shelby and Larissa and five grand-nieces and nephews.
Also fondly remembered by his extended family Peter and Shirley Koropatnisky, brother-in-Law Craig Koropatnisky, and nephew Nicolas. His birth mother Shirley Burkart, sister Cherryl Johnston and nephew Brandon, brother Dean (Nicole) Burkart, niece Cassidy and nephew Carson.
Ron had a larger-than-life personality. His inner strength, humor and fierce commitment to his family, friends, Chuchi family and his ‘Brothers and Sisters’ on the job, are a testament to his character. Loved by many, he will be forgotten by few!
The Celebration of Ron will be on Sunday, April 27th at 1pm. Aldergrove Legion Hall, 26607 Fraser Hwy.
In lieu of flowers, there will be a collection at the celebration in honor of Ron. Donations will go to Vancouver General Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit in recognition of their outstanding care and compassion to their patients and the families.
