Harvey Charles Coatham
April 27th, 2019
It is with great sadness that the family of Harvey ‘Harv’ Charles Coatham announce his passing on Saturday April 27, 2019 at the age of 76.
Survived by his wife and love of his life, Burdell ‘Birdie’ of 52 years, daughters Charlene Clifton (Gerald) of Moses Lake, WA, Cheri Collopy (Ian) of Port Moody, BC and his precious grandchildren; Abigail and Avery Clifton, Bean and Everett Collopy, niece Wendy and cousins. Predeceased by his brother, Lawrence Coatham, Mother, Beatrice Elma Nurse and Father, Charles Boyes Coatham.
Harvey belonged to ILWU Local 500 for 43 years, working as Longshoreman on the Vancouver waterfront and spent his last years at Neptune Terminals on the North Shore. He spent 50 years in North Vancouver, where he resided in Lynn Valley and Seymour Parkway, while raising his family. During his retirement years, he moved to Abbotsford with his wife.
He was a kind loving soul whose passions were family, traveling, Beachwood Park and casinos where he was right at home with his long-time friends & family. Harvey loved great food and every meal he ate was his favourite. He lived life to the fullest and continued to define the odds know matter how complicated it was.
So long Harv you will be missed. A family gathering will be arranged at a later date.
Thank you for your prayers and support.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence for the family.

Burdell and Family I am so sorry to hear about your loss I haven't seen my uncle in over 30 years and mom and I were hoping to come and see you guys soon
I met Harvey when I was in my teens and remember him with fondness. I remember him in his youth, spirit and strength. We all used to Rollerskate together at Rollerland and he could mostly outskate all the men and boys. I remember his 21st birthday party at his parents home in Vancouver near the PNE grounds. It was with great sadness that I read in this mornings Province of his passing. My great condolences to Harvey's wife Birdie and his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Dear Birdie It has been a long time since your wedding day in North Van on Lonsdale. It was a great party and a good time. I have thought so so many times that I would like to re-connect with Harvey and thank him again for the fun ski trips to Mt. Baker in his Convair. I was out at his mom's and my Aunt Bea's grave site with leaving with a desire to add my Mom's name to the site. Time is going so fast and when you moved to Mill Lake area, I thought I would reach out one day soon and how Harvey has left us. May God's blessings pour over you and family. Cousin Wayne
