Martha Anna Davison (nee Workman)
September 7th, 2019
It is with profound grief we announce the passing of Martha Anna Davison, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend after a prolonged battle with lung disease. Born in Belfast Northern Ireland she passed in her new home, Richmond, BC.
Martha was a devout Latter Day Saint who lived her life adhering to the gospel and teachings of her church. She will be missed by her visiting teaching partners, her primary school children, her Bishop and congregation of the Richmond and Edmonton wards she belonged to.
A devoted wife of 59 years to Robert she will be irreplaceable to him. Their love was strong through the challenges of immigration away from family, establishing working class careers in health care and construction, and raising two children. Her loss is heartbreaking to her daughter and son, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved children and was never happier than when playing with them.
She loved and promoted physical exercise; loved walks in any and all parks but in particular Garry Point. She loved to “work her lungs”; and, to the astonishment of her nurses played Elvis Presley’s “Wooden Heart” on her harmonica.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence for the family.
She has left us all with broken hearts; but, we know she is in a world free from her pain. For that we are so very grateful.
We will miss you today, tomorrow and every day.
My deepest condolences to you Karen, and family. XO
