Dirk "John" Jongenburger

Dirk “John” Jongenburger born 1940 in Boskoop, Netherlands passed away surrounded by family November 18, 2019.

John was predeceased by his devoted wife Dikkie of 53 years in 2017.  He leaves behind a loving family and will be fondly missed by his children Susan (Brent), Rick (Victoria), Shelley (John), Jonathan, Chris (Janelle).  Grandchildren Michelle (Jim) & Nic, Gabe, Paisley and Jax, Tenaya, Ryan (Marlo) & Ella and Ezra, Nathan (Karli), Scott, Elayna, Faith and Rachel. John leaves behind a Sister and Brother in Holland as well as a network of extended family there. He will be missed by family and close friends.

An avid historian and genealogist he spent countless hours tracing his family tree all the way back to the 1400’s.  John grew up in Holland and trained as a Horticulturist.  He immigrated to Canada as a young man and made it his home.  John will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, generosity, and deep sense of faith.

You left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide and though we cannot see you, you are always at our sides.
