Messages:

Douglas was my Uncle. I had always felt him to be like a father figure to me with my own Dad passing away when I was so young. Uncle Doug taught me many things over the years.. One of them being how very loved I was in the family. Also how to fix my gas barbecue being a gal with little mechanical knowledge. :) He was quite famous for his biscuits for breakfast as I recall. He always had a compliment when you were all dressed up to go out which always brought a smile. A true gentleman who opened doors, served the ladies first always! Family was very important to him as he was to the family. It is so very hard to talk of him in the past tense now. He truly was a unique treasure Auntie Joy so I am very sorry for your unexpected loss. He will be missed by many people as he touched so many lives. Rest in Peace Uncle Doug.

Dear Joy and family:I am so sorry to hear of your loss. We have many fond memories of Doug both as a wonderful friend and neighbour. Thinking of you Joy as I know how much I miss Al but you will always have wonderful memories as I do. You are all in my thoughts with much love, Marion
