Debbie Frances Barbon

July 16th, 2024

With heartfelt sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved Debbie.  Debbie Frances Barbon (nee Lloyd) was born in Vancouver on Nov 19, 1957.  The oldest sibling to Rhonda, Barb and Billy, children of Red and Frankie Lloyd.  She spent her early years living in Nanaimo, moving to New Westminster while in high school.  It was there that she met the love of her life Ron, with whom she spent the next 51 years building their lives and family together.  Debbie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  Debbie touched many lives and was loved dearly.

She is survived by her husband Ron, sons Shaun (Steph) and Tyler (Gundy) and grandchildren Hannah, Grace, Emma, Sarah, Andre, Dominic, Adam, Parker and Rosalee. Debbie was predeceased by her daughter Leesa in 2015.

Debbie had many passions, first and foremost was her love and dedication to her grandchildren.  She was heavily involved in all her children’s activities, which included Mission 9ers football, Girl Guides and school events.  Family gatherings in Osoyoos and Horsefly Lake were treasured for the memories created every year.  She loved her many years of ladies curling with her dear friends Tracy, Linda and Lorraine.  Debbie spent the past 25 years in a career she loved at Columbia Kitchen Cabinets, she made friends who treasured, trusted and admired her.

She was an avid quilter and spent countless hours creating works of art for her family and friends.  Her time spent quilting was very special to her.  She made many lifelong friends that shared her passion notably Emily and Rita.

Debbie passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 16, 2024, at Holmberg House in Abbotsford.  The family can not express enough their profound gratitude to the caring and compassionate individuals who provided for Debbie.

The Barbon family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to those who have offered their support and condolences in this time of loss as well as all who brought joy to Debbie.

people will forget what you did,
but people will never forget how you made them feel.

Messages:

We are so saddened to hear of Debbie’s passing and offer our condolences to the Barbon family.

We were saddened to hear about Deb's diagnosis & recent passing. We've known Ron for many years and while we only met Deb on a handful of occasions, there was always a smile and twinkle in Ron's eye when he spoke of Deb. It was easy to see that Ron & Deb were a perfect fit for each other, our thoughts are with Ron and the Barbon family at this time.

Dearest Ron and family....we are so sorry for your heartbreaking loss. We have so many wonderful memories of Deb and her beautiful smile and bubbly personality. May your memories help you through this very difficult time.

Dear Ron, Shaun and Tyler, your wife and mother was a very special person. She was the most thoughtful and kind person I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. She will be greatly missed but her memory and legacy lives on. Our heart goes out to you in this very difficult time, we love you all❤️

Debbie was such a special person. She was exceptionally kind and caring but also sassy + never failed to make me smile or laugh. Her presence was immediately comforting, she was someone you just wanted to be around. Before my last day at Columbia she gifted me the most brilliant quilt that I will cherish forever, she was so talented. Sending so much love + prayers to the family. I am grateful to have known her, she will be missed.

Ron...so sorry for your loss and for your entire family. Klara's and my heart goes out to you. If you need anything...Hewy.

We love you. You will be missed.

To Debbie’s dearest family and friends, I can only imagine the grief that you are experiencing with the loss of this wonderful, kind soul. I worked (thru the telephone line)- with Debbie for 10 years from 2004-2014 as a Columbia dealer …..only to reconnected again last June. I was excited to have our silly little chats before getting down to business during our phone calls together. Ever patient, kind and quickly responsive- she will be sorely missed by me- and I imagine all the dealers she worked with. I know family was very important to her- it put a sparkle in her voice when she talked about them (you). Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of this special woman. I will miss you Debbie, In my thoughts, Terri

Our heartfelt condolences to you Ron and your entire family. Debbie was one in a million and her memory will live on. Some of my fondest bonspiel memories involved Debbie and her team.

Debbie was like family to me, for many years. Her connection with her grand daughters was something I’ve never seen before. Sending love and condolences. Her light will forever shine.

We are so sorry. To the entire Barbon family, please accept our sincere condolences.
