Kampen, Ebbel

Ebbel Kampen went to be at home with the Lord on January 2, 2024, in his 93rd year. He is survived by his wife Maureen and their four children Yolanda (Alex), Eric (Kim), Sylvia (Earl), and Fiona (Randell), 20 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Marten, Rudy, Henk, and Leo
Ebbel was the third child of Uiltje and Willemke Kampen, born in Haulerwijk, in the province of Friesland in the Netherlands. On August 5, 1955, Ebbel married Maureen (Wietske Leentje) de Boer. After some years in Amsterdam, Ebbel and the family moved to Sneek, Friesland, where they owned a grocery store. In 1970, the family immigrated to Canada, living for a year in Toronto before moving to Orangeville, where he owned a fish and chips store. This was followed by some years in Guelph, where he owned another fish and chips store, and Burlington, where he became manager of a furniture store. Upon retirement, Ebbel and Maureen moved to Vernon. In April 2022, they moved to Manoah Manor in Langley.
As family, we note with thankfulness that after a long and blessed life, he finished the race of faith, having kept the faith, and has now received the crown of righteousness obtained for him by his Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Our condolences to you and your family. As the minister spoke of this morning, your father has finished the race. His frail body is frail no longer. His faith has given him salvation which he always enjoyed but now enjoys perfectly. May he rest in peace with his Father. Let us all continue in this faith knowing our salvation is freely given as a gift from God. Thanks for alerting Aunt Maureen about the streaming video. We appreciated that she waved knowing it was "just for us"...and all the family of course!
Dear Maureen and family. My condolences to you all with the loss of your husband, father and grandfather. You were blessed to have a long retirement together, but you will miss him dearly, wishing you God's loving care as you travel on. Love, Minnie.
condolences to you all
Dear family of Mr. Kampen, Our condolences on the passing of your dear husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. You will miss him very much. Leonard is also sad to know he is no longer at Manoah. People are precious gifts. He was also a very good friend of our Uncle Andy Lodder back in Orangeville. May our gracious God comfort each one of you and may we all walk close to Him.
