Keith Malcolm Roane

February 6th, 1961 ~ October 28th, 2024

It is with great sadness that we are sharing that our baby brother passed away on October 28, 2024. Keith Malcolm Roane was born in Vancouver, B.C. on February 6, 1961. He was the 6th child born to William and Jessie Roane of Coquitlam.

His childhood was filled with days on the soccer field and playing bagpipes in his Grandfather's bands. His first job was at his father's meat market. Keith was a meat cutter at Save On Foods for 40 years. His passions were golfing, fishing, camping, music and wine. He worked part time on his days off at a VQA wine shop where he loved to banter with the customers. Keith enjoyed exploring remote BC lakes and rivers. He attended a variety of concerts but never missed the Rolling Stones.

He loved golf so much that when he saw a condo on Augusta next to Burnaby Mountain Golf Course, he knew he had found his home. Keith was a proud resident of North Burnaby for 30 years. He enjoyed the history of the community and supporting the local restaurants. Keith's sense of humour kept us all laughing at family gatherings. He was a beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews.  He was a loving son and very attentive to our mother after our father passed. Keith is survived by his 5 siblings, Janis (Alec) Smith, Elouise (Jamie) Roane, Sheila Annan, Bruce (Teri) Roane, Beth (Jim) Young. 11 nieces and nephews, 5 great nieces and great nephews and many cousins. Keith was predeceased by his parents, William Miller Roane (2014) Jessie Alexa Ann (Nicholson) Roane (2020). Celebration of Life TBD.

Messages:

It's hard to believe you're gone Keith. I enjoyed our political discussions as well you enlightening and educating me on Canadian philosophers I was not aware of. Instead of being sad with your untimely premature passing, I'll celebrate you being born and having lived a very happy and purposed life. Rest In Peace my dear cousin. You came in as the smallest of 6 siblings, but left us as giant in your own way!! Say Hi to Charlie Watts for me

Sending our love to your family in the passing of your dear brother! Love Theresa and Steve
