David John Brolin

It is with profound sadness that we inform you of the tragic passing of David on January 17th after a helicopter crash near Cultus Lake, BC. David is survived by his wife Kirsten, his son Connor and daughter Kennedy. He is also survived by father and mother, John and Maxine, Brother Greg (Lisa), nephew and niece, Aunts, Uncles and cousins. David had a long history of flying having earned his pilot’s licence at age 18. He was born in California and raised here in British Columbia. He flew for the 3rd Cavalry Air Mobile Unit during Operation Desert Storm. During his five year career in the U.S. Army he attained the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. He also flew for eight years with Whistler Helicopter Corporation. David joined the RCMP in 2006 as a pilot and loved his work. His enthusiasm and courage will be remembered by all, his contributions and impact will be everlasting. David’s love of life, family and friends will forever be remembered in our hearts.
Please join us in celebrating his life on Thursday, January 26th at 1:00 pm at Peace Portal Alliance Church, 15128 27B Avenue, Surrey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Dear John and Maxine. We lost contact many years ago,and just heard of David's passing and wish to extend our deepest condolinses to you and the family in his passing . It's been over thirty years since we have seen any of you, and did not know what a great career David had. I remember how proud you were of David then and how very proud you must have been of all his accomplishments over the years.I had no idea. My thoughts and deepest condolences are with Dave's family and with those who cared so much about him. Losing Dave has been really hard for so many of us. That we are so many speaks volumes about the kind of person he was and gives some comfort in knowing that he leaves behind a great legacy in the many lives he has indelibly touched. I am so grateful for having had the chance to know Dave as a colleague and friend for the past 13 years. There are lots of great things to remember from those times but more importantly, the memory of how Dave lived his life will always continue to inspire me.
John and Maxine, I was truly saddened to hear of David's sudden passing. I last saw David when I picked him up in Comox back in 1996 or 1997, I believe he was doing some flying over there. As so many people have said before me, he had a big smile and hello for me as he came out on the tarmac and realized I would be flying him back to Vancouver. He truly lived a life to be proud of, both personally and professionally. My deepest sympathies go out to all of you. David, you "have slipped the surly bonds of earth", and God has "welcomed home a Flyer".
Maxine,John and family - our sincere condolences with the sudden passing of David. We remember him growing up in the Camden Cr. years. We pray for you and his wife and children that the Lord may sustain you in these difficult days.
John and Maxine. It's been over thirty years since we last met and laughed about Hawaii, and sometimes, ourselves. I remember how proud you were of David then - when he was just a boy and doing so well! Dear Kirsten, Connor and Kennedy. We were so shocked and sad to hear about Dave's passing. I can picture him so clearly in the box at Connor's lacrosse games-'manning' the doors for our boys! He was always willing to help coach, often in the rain at Taylor Box. He was such a Positive Influence for all our players and was very well liked by everyone. JQ would like to tell Connor that he should feel proud of his father, a Hero. We are thinking of you and all of your family. We send our deepest condolences.

We at the Nav Canada Langley Air Traffic Control Tower were shocked and saddened to hear of Dave's sudden passing. Through the years our unit has had many opportunities to work with him. I had the opportunity to fly with Dave, and his love of aviation and dedication to his job was infectious. The RCMP's aviation division has lost a great ambassador, and he will truly be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of Dave's family and friends at this time.

Words cannot express our deep sorrow for your loss. We didn't know David personally but we do know how much he was loved and how proud everyone was of him. When we moved to our property on 0 & 248th we would wave to the RCMP helicopter that flies over us regularly & the pilot would always wiggle the chopper back at us. We are sure this was Davids way of saying hi as he knew we are friends with John and Maxine. Our thoughts are with all of Davids family at this very sad time. Lois & Rick Clough
It is was with great sadness that i read about Dave's passing. I worked with Dave many times in the film business while he was flying for Blackcomb Helicopters. He was always a great guy to fly with, a top pilot and most of all a really nice guy. Paul Lukaitis
