Ronald Alfred Charles Elve

January 16th, 2013

It is with great sadness we announce that Ronald Alfred Charles Elve passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the age of 80 years.  He is predeceased by his parents Charles and Louise Elve and son Randy. Ronald will be lovingly remembered by his wife Shirley; children Debbie (Colin), Dianne (David), Donna (Raymond), Brian (Peggy) and Delaney (Mitch); sister Joan (Vern) along with his 13 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and numerous other family and friends. Ron enjoyed a full life both personally and professionally. In his younger years he held several odd jobs but settled on becoming a firefighter for the City of Regina, which he retired from after 33 years of service. He and his wife raised 6 children, welcomed numerous grandchildren over the years, and were looking forward to celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary later this year. His various life experiences provided him with a large collection of stories that he loved to share with others; whether it was from his days as a firefighter, or from helping his family and friends fix a broken vehicle, to one of the family trips through the mountains of BC, you could be certain he had a story for any occasion. His sharp wit, charming smile and generous heart were one of a kind. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.  A celebration of Ronald's life will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 1:00 pm in St. Charles R.C. Church, 1171 Broder Street, Regina, SK with Cliff Geiger officiating. Flowers most gratefully declined.  Friends so wishing may make donations, in Ronalds's memory, to the Regina Humane Society, P.O. Box 3143, Regina, SK S4P 3G7.
