Joseph Auguste Frigon

January 19th, 2013

Joseph Auguste Frigon passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the age of 82 years.  He went peacefully after a short illness surrounded by his loving wife and family.  Joe was predeceased by his parents Adrian and Eugenie (nee Autet); brother George; sisters Adrienne Pratt and Beatrice Harmatiuk.   Left to honour his memory are his wife of 61 years Alice (nee Henry); children Valerie (Rick) D’Andrea, Garry (Pam), Deborah (Marc) Roussel, Ron (Loretta), Cheryle (Rick) Healey, Gene (Corrie), Dale, John (Denise), Tarl (Leanne); grandchildren Derek (Leah), Tony, Colinda, Karen, Kaye, Kristy, Tonia, Jamie (Bryan), Sam (Sarah), Kari, Candice, Michael, Jolie (Jill), Lacey, Clayton (Daylene), Tamara (Aaron), Trisha (Ian), Sheena, Carson, Seth, Kaleb, Cassandra, Vanessa, Calvin, Beau, Brooke, Taurelle; 18 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews who were all special to him as well as extended family, friends, and neighbours.  The family would like to thank the staff at the Regina General Hospital 6F for the care given to our Dad.  We would especially like to thank the compassionate care received at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre.  Our family appreciated the effort the nursing staff put in to keeping our dad comfortable.  They were especially mindful and respectful of our family and the situation we were in.  Joe was raised on the family farm near Domremy, SK.  He never had a formal education but he was self taught and could discuss any topic. Joe loved a good discussion.  After marrying Alice they eventually settled in Regina to raise their growing family.  Joe retired at the age of 65 and enjoyed his retirement.  We never knew he liked to garden until he had the time to enjoy it.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and he taught us to enjoy the outdoors.  Family was his first priority and his family loved him in return.  Dad put on a rough exterior but inside he was a gentle soul.  Honouring Joe’s wishes there will be a Graveside Service on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 2:00 pm in Riverside Memorial Park.  Those attending the service please meet at the cemetery gate.  The family is planning a Memorial Service in June, 2013 and information will appear in the Leader Post at a later date
