Beryl Mary Ellen Reitsma

March 5th, 2014

Beryl Reitsma (nee Shoulak) passed away peacefully in Cranbrook, BC in the arms of her children.  Predeceased by her husband Gerry in 2011, Beryl will be forever remembered and loved by her son Kevin (Leah) Seufert; daughter Colleen (Bob) Stone; grandchildren Brigitte (Aaron) Brown, Chelsea Stone, Alexandra Stone (Dustin Hazell); great grandchildren Madelyn, Reese, Lennon, Jake and Corbin.  Beryl was born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan.  It was there that she began a lifelong career in the retail industry. She raised her children to adulthood in Regina, moving to Cranbrook in 1977 and remarrying.  She continued to work until well into her 70’s enjoying the daily interaction with customers and co-workers. Beryl had an infectious smile and a witty sense of humor.  She always thought of others first, putting her own needs last.  She loved playing cards and doing crossword puzzles and she was very proud of her flower beds and fish ponds.  A family barbeque will be held in June to celebrate Beryl’s 86th birthday and commemorate her Life.  Flowers are gratefully declined and those wishing to do so may make donations to the F.W. Green Home, 1700 – 4th St. S., Cranbrook, BC  V1C 6E1.

Colleen & Kevin & family I'm so sorry to hear of you Mom's passing. I worked with Beryl at Northgate for several years . She was so kind to me and I remember she pretended to be deaf as I was so shy and no-one could hear me speak . Needless to say she did her job well . I was very fortunate to have visited her & Gerry in Sept/2006 , while I was in Cranbrook , we had a lovely visit . When we worked together, we had a lot of fun and always had our night out together, and I spent many week-ends at your house on Scarth St . I'll always remember those times & your Mom , she was a great Lady , Heaven has gained an angel. take care .

Colleen and Family So sorry to hear about your Mom. Hugs to everyone. Sherry and Randy
