Marjorie Heidt

September 14th, 2015

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Marjorie Heidt announce her passing on September 14, 2015 with her loving daughter Adele by her side. The cherished monarch of our family was born the youngest of 19 siblings on February 20, 1924. Predeceased by the love of her life, husband Ed in 1998, parents Philip and Katherine, and 18 brothers and sisters.  Marjorie is survived by her daughter Adele Taylor (Joe), grandchildren Jody (Mike) and Rodney, great-grandchildren Victoria and Anthony. She is also survived by her son Gerry (Cathy), granddaughters Jessica (Rob) McBride, Jaymie (Jordan) Walker, and Sara (Ryan) Heidt; great-grandchildren Jordan, RJ, and Mason; as well as many special nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Our devoted Granny lived her life with an infectious hardy laughter and remarkable sense of humor. If wealth was measured in terms of love, then Granny was easily the richest woman on earth. She taught us to enjoy every moment and love to the fullest. Always a source of unwavering support and unconditional love, she faced all of life's challenges with great strength, courage, and dignity, which served as important life lessons to all of us. After living over nine decades through generations of fast-paced changes in cultures, ideals, and technology, she adapted with curiosity, grace, and humor that everyone around her both enjoyed and admired, always keeping her strong faith in God close to her heart. Your beautifully long life deserves a big celebration, Gran, and this will take some special planning, so we will hold our family interment with Grandad in Tramping Lake, SK next summer. We will miss you terribly Granny, and we are so very grateful that we had you with us our whole lives; you lived the most wonderful, joyous years filled with love, happiness and many, many good times!! How lucky we are that we have lifetimes of wonderful memories, and you were able to see your great-grandchildren grow! We have countless stories of you that will carry on with all of us forever. You were a true Angel, Gran; both remarkable and unforgettable to everyone that met you. A special thank you to the staff at Sunset Extendicare for providing exceptional care and love to Granny during her short time there.
