Kathryn "Kathy" Kelly Massett
August 2nd, 2015
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kathy on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at the age of 53 years surrounded by her family. Kathy was predeceased by her husband Larry. She is survived by her daughter Meggin; four grandchildren Jayden, Raelyn, Paris, and Scarlet; her parents Alex and Carolyn; her brothers Murray and Michelle (Arianna), Gary and Brenda (Zoe and Carly).
Kathy was born on April 18, 1962 and raised in Regina. She was talented in many areas from dancing, figure skating, music and visual arts. She was an avid animal lover, caring immensely for her horses, cats, dogs, birds and rabbits. Kathy spent over 25 years working in the health care system at all the Regina hospitals.
At the age of four, Kathy developed diabetes and it never waivered her positive attitude and work ethic. She persevered all the challenges she faced from her disease including having four hours of dialysis in the morning and going to work for her shift in the late afternoon. Kathy spent the last three and half years in long term care at Wascana Rehab where she enjoyed doing ceramics and shopping when she was able. Kathy continued to express how much she loved and missed her animals. She was quite a character with a great sense of humour, loving life to the end. She fought a ferocious battle and finally could fight no longer.
Thank you to all the health care providers over the many years. A special thank you to Dr. Prassad who fought fiercely for Kathy.
The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 1021 McCarthy Blvd. N., Regina, SK.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Regina Humane Society.

I worked with Kathy for many years and will remember her for her great sense of humour. We had many great laughs together and were friends outside of work as well. I hope you are now at peace Kathy. The last fews years were very hard for you but you always remained positive. I will remember you as a girl with a great laugh, a huge love for your cats and your off colour humour. Rest in peace my friend.
