(Alfred) Milo Benn

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of (Alfred) Milo Benn April 10, 2016 in Regina, SK after a brief illness.  He is survived by two sons Chris and Tony (Karen) Benn both of Vernon, BC and by his stepdaughter Kim (Gilbert) Bessette of Nampa, AB, 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren as well as his brother Bob (Carol) of Sherwood Park, AB and sister Eileen (Stephen) of Sicamous, BC.  In his last four years it was Milo's privilege to gain the loving companionship of Joyce Rist of Yorkton, SK and her dear family. Milo was predeceased by his brother Bruce, parents Carl and Olga Benn, and his wife Roberta.

 Gaining his journeyman carpentry ticket, he worked on the Mica Dam and later in Hudson's Hope, BC eventually taking longer term employment at the college in Fairview, AB.  After his divorce, he married Roberta Anne Fuller and, after some years of travel, they moved to Vernon, then Sicamous BC where Milo enjoyed working for 3 Buoys Houseboats for several years.  After retirement he and Roberta became well known through operating a market stall locally or at the roadside market in Enderby.  Their final move was to Mendham, a small Saskatchewan community near the Alberta border.

 Milo had a zest for living that made him fun to be around.  He had lots of “quotable quotes” and always had peoplelaughing.  He loved to play the guitar and had memorized lots of (mostly country & western) songs.  In quiz or trivial pursuit his wealth of 'useless' information was legend – drawing comment that he'd be filthy rich if he had applied the effort to brain surgery...  Milo will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends.

 A Celebration of Life will take place at Sicamous Bible Church, in Sicamous, BC on Saturday 23 April at 1:00 pm,followed by refreshments.  Family will have a private inurnment later, placing Milo alongside Roberta.
