Marjorie Eileen Hamilton

Marjorie Eileen Hamilton (nee Harrison),  late of Regina, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully on Monday, October 31, 2016 at the age of 92 years in the Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit with family at her side.

Born February 16, 1924 in Wapella, Saskatchewan to John and Helen (Ailie) Harrison, Marjorie worked as a rural Saskatchewan teacher for 10 years before moving back to Regina where she took business training.   Married to her beloved Robert (Bert) Hamilton in 1959, she was busy at home while working full time as an administrator.  She retired from the Government of Saskatchewan in 1979 and in 1982 Marj and Bert moved to B.C.  After Bert’s passing in 1987, she returned “home” to Regina to be closer to family and friends and to enjoy the “prairie sunshine”.  Marjorie is predeceased by ten siblings Blanche, Olive, Len, Lorne, Ozzie, Cliff, Allan, Gordon, Charlotte, and Margaret. 

She is survived by sisters-in-law Margaret Harrison (Winnipeg, MB), Shirley Slind (Tisdale, SK);  brothers-in-law Russell (Alma) Hamilton (Devon, AB), Keith (Eileen) Hamilton (Carstairs, AB), and Clarence Hamilton (Moosomin, SK); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends. 

Marjorie will be remembered for her devotion to her husband and her love of family, including several “adopted” families who were an important part of her life. 

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the chapel at Broadway Terrace, 1150 Broadway Avenue, Regina, SK.  A Family Service at the Wapella Cemetery will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hospitals of Regina Foundation, the Canadian Arthritis Society, or the Kinsmen Telemiracle Foundation will be appreciated by the family.
