Wilfred Arnold Dreger

September 21st, 2017

Wilfred Arnold Dreger passed away quietly on Thursday, September 21, 2017.  He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Otillie and his brother Melvin.    He was born November 4, 1933 in Lang, SK, attended school in Lang and Luther College High School.  In 1958 he married Corinne Herman – his closest companion and friend for the last 59 years.  Wilf worked at Regina City Hall in the planning dept until his retirement.  Travelling south for winter holidays while they worked, Wilf and Corinne wintered in Texas for the last 22 years where they made many good friends. There, he enjoyed painting, shuffleboard, and flowers.  Wilf loved new cars, boating, and fishing; his annual trip to Waskesiu and later to Jan Lake was the highlight of his summer.  In his younger years he also enjoyed trap shooting and woodworking, building his own first motor boat of which he was justifiably proud.  He was an avid football fan, gathering with friends in front of the TV to watch many Grey Cup games.

Wilf is survived by his wife Corinne, sister-in-law Vera Herman, and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.  A private family memorial service was held on September 25, 2017.

Messages:

Our deepest sympathy to you Corinne. I think of all the good times in P2P over the years. June and Don.

Corinne, I was very saddened to hear of Wilf's passing. He was a great colleague and mentor to me at the City of Regina and a good friend. I will of course always remember him for his extraordinary sense of humour. I know this must be a difficult time for you. Sheila and I send our condolences to you. Glen & Sheila Dowling
