October 25th, 2017

It is with great sadness that the family of Harvey Piniach announce his peaceful passing on October 25, 2017. Harvey was born on August 21, 1930 in Lanigan, SK. Harvey was predeceased by his father Harry and his mother Pauline, his son Gary and daughter Shelley (in infancy) and left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 64 years, Pauline; sons Mark (Ann-Marie) and grandchildren Tamara (Chris) and great-granddaughter Nora, and Alex (Brittany); Greg; Don; John (Sharon); Peter; and daughter Patti and grandchildren Anthony and Spencer; daughter-in-law Joey and grandchildren Nicole (Trent) and Tysen (Chantille); and sister Alyce Clark. Harvey deeply loved his entire family very much and he will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all family members.  Harvey was born in Lanigan, Saskatchewan on August 21, 1930 where he spent his childhood.  He moved with his family to Regina after his father retired.  He trained as a carpenter and was employed by the City of Regina as a Building Inspector, retiring after 30 years of service.  He was a skilled carpenter and was passionate about that trade.  One of his many accomplishments was to have built the family home, where he witnessed his family grow up and where his wife continues to reside fifty-three years later.  Harvey’s love and commitment to his family and to his grandchildren was a hallmark in his life.  He enjoyed spending his summers at the family cottage at Manitou Beach, a place he took great pride in building and sharing with his family. Harvey had a strong Catholic faith and was actively involved with Saint Basil’s Ukrainian Catholic Church until his health declined.  He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus for over 55 years. Harvey was deeply loved by his family and will be missed dearly. Funeral Divine Liturgy will be held at St. Basil‘s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1757 Toronto St., Regina, SK on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park.
