Allan Devine

December 22nd, 2018

Allan Devine, loving husband, father and grandpa, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on December 22, 2018 at the age of 63 years. Allan is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years Maureen; children Aaron, Penny (Kurt), Adam (Robyn), Jenna (Ryan), and Karlee (Jason); grandchildren Tory (Lexie), Ashley (Scott), Donovan, Faith, Gavin, Aslan, Emma and Jaiden; special friends Murray and Karen Krieger and Doug and Terry Leonard. Allan was born April 22, 1955 in Aneroid, SK.  He attended school in Hazenmore and Kincaid before entering the workforce in the oil fields. He worked road construction, hauled logs, and his greatest passion was trucking which took him all across Canada. Almo Holdings, his trucking company named after himself and his wife, was a proud accomplishment for Allan. He continued to drive truck until his health no longer allowed in October of 2001. He enjoyed helping on the farm and going for coffee at the old school house. His interests included going to Agribition, the Rodeo and Pats games. Allan also liked to go to garage sales and auctions. Road trips, whether planned or spur of the moment, were his favorite. The Church was an important aspect of his life. He was an usher and attended service regularly including every Sunday at Wascana. Camp Monahan was an important place to Allan where he spent a lot of his time volunteering by helping with maintenance and the fishing program. He loved to fish, ride his quad and do wood working. In 2015 Allan and Maureen sold their home and moved to a Seniors Complex where Allan made many friends and enjoyed visiting in the common room. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends, family and his grandson Jaiden. Hard working, strong- willed, stubborn, passionate and kind hearted are the qualities Allan portrayed.  He was proud of his family and celebrated their accomplishments. In recent years he would give a thumbs up for approval and a big smile. His family would like to thank the nurses, physicians and staff who have cared for him in recent years. Special thanks to Wascana Unit 2-5 and Dr. Bester as well as General Hospital ER and Unit 3E for their care and compassion. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. in Regina Victory Church, 1815 Rupert Street, Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or Diabetes Canada.
