Steffa Dorosh, late of Regina, SK, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the age of 94 years. She was predeceased by her husband John Dorosh; son Rick Dorosh; her parents Sam and Anna Parfenuik; brothers Mike, Metro, Bill, John, and Walter; and her sisters Anne, Rosie, Mary, Kay, and Julie. She is survived by her daughter Arlene (Wilf) Horwath; daughter-in-law Sharon Dorosh; grandchildren Janelle Weir, Kimberly (Chad) Marshall, Curtis (Krista) Horwath, and Kyle Dorosh (Shannon St. Onge); great-grandchildren Sebastian, Emma, Jacob, Claire, Olivia, and Hunter; her sister Emma Parfenuik; and many nieces and nephews. Steffa grew up on a farm near the small town of Hubbard, SK and married John Dorosh in 1947. Steffa was a teacher in rural Saskatchewan until 1956 when they moved to Regina at which time she was employed with the Federal Government until her retirement at the young age of 55. After retirement they enjoyed many vacation trips to include Hawaii, Barbados, Las Vegas, a Caribbean Cruise, as well as many trips throughout Canada (from coast to coast). She loved to cook for her family and friends and dedicated many hours to making perogies and cabbage rolls at her Church. As she had been immobolized for the past few years and living in a nursing home, the majority of her time there was spent praying her Rosary and watching daily mass and game shows on television. Funeral Divine Liturgy will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Athanasius Ukrainian Catholic Church, 55 McMurchy Avenue, Regina, SK. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Athanasius Memorial Fund or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada – Sask. Division.
