Rose was born in Marievale, SK on August 22, 1945. She attended school both in Marievale and Regina. At the age of 16, she went to work at Fellinger’s Meats on Quebec Street in Regina. She enjoyed her work there and had fond memories of the staff and friends she made while working there. In 1964 she married Ted Hehn and together they had 3 children – Candy, Bonnie and Vernon. The family had lived in Regina, Calgary, and New Westminster before deciding to settle in Cupar, SK – Ted’s home town in 1977. Rose was especially proud of her work at the Cupar Nursing Home where she worked as a Care Aid for 25 years. Rose enjoyed the simple things in life like going to bingo, crocheting at her kitchen table in the mornings, weiner roasts, puttering around her garden in the summer, and making pickles and relishes for her kids and grandchildren. She enjoyed watching the Young and the Restless with Ted which they did together for 35 years. She will be remembered for her Elvis collection, her love of skunks, and for her affection for all things leopard print.
The family would like to thank the Doctors and medical staff at the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic, Pasqua and General Hospitals in Regina for providing care for Rose.
A heart-felt thank you is also extended to the staff at the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice for making Rose’s last days comfortable. For those wishing to make a donation in Rose’s memory, the family request that donations be made to the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice.
