Marion Makellky

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marion Makellky, late of Regina, SK on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the age of 87 years. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph, Marion and Phyillis Schoff; brothers Joe, Tony (Hazel), Jacob, Edward (Judy); sister Kay (Kasmer McKelkie); and brother-in-law Bill Schindel. Marion is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert; their children Neal (Jan), Greg (Becky), Glenda (Brad Louis), Deborah (Tim Klassen) and special friend/son Rod Stice. Marion is also survived by her brother Ralph Schoff (Yvonne); sisters Louise Schindel and Irene Daniels (Albert); sisters-in-law Joyce and Elaine Schoff; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren Tiffany Haraldson (Micheal), Alexis Campbell (Dillon, children Sidney And Izzy), Justin Makellky (Deanne, children Vincent,Theo and Charlotte), Stephanie Makellky (children Leneva, Elizavet and Hadassah), Kalvin Makellky (Amy), Kristen Louis (Chris Dodd), Andrea Birchard (Greg) children Kadence, Cameron and Joey, Derek Louis (Sarah) children Tom.
Marion and Robert were married in 1953 and farmed north of Estevan, SK. In 1968 they bought a farm at Manor, SK and in 1974 they moved to Regina, SK. Mom liked to spend a lot of time in her garden and flower beds. There was never a petunia or marigold out of place when she was around. In the winter, she would spend her time crocheting and baking.
Thank you to all the staff at Sunset Extendicare for your care and compassion during Mom’s time there. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Child Parish, 2636 - 7th Avenue East, Regina, SK. Private family interment in Regina Memorial Gardens. so sorry for your loss, I only knew her and Robert for a short while but considered her a true friend. she was in my thoughts often.....

We are so sorry for your loss, aunty Marion was such a special sweet lady. She took such good care of our dad when our mom was sick in Regina and always made us feel at home. And I will never forget walking into dads place and hearing him talking German to his sister Marion. He loved her so .. RIP aunt Marion.
