Robert Donald Mickleburgh Mead
December 5th, 2018
Bob Mead, dearly beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend passed away peacefully in the Regina General Hospital on Wednesday, December 5, 2018. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Florence Mead. Bob is survived by his loving family: wife of 49 years Yvette; son Bob (Nicolette) and grandchildren Bobby and Christopher, daughter Anne (Andrew) and grandchildren Kassidy and Andrew; sister Rose (Reid) Walton, sister Florence (Steven) Gyori, brother Ken (Betty-deceased) Mead, sister Doris (Casper-deceased) Fuch, brother Edward (Hillary) Mead, brother Tom (Myrna) Mead, and brother Dave (Doris) Mead. Bob is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
Bob was born on January 26, 1941 in Baring, Saskatchewan. He grew up learning agriculture on the family farm. Bob was a strong, proud, hard-working man who wasn’t willing to compromise his morals and values. He lived life to the fullest, with off-colored wise cracks, and witty one liners, but you always knew where you stood. He was particularly proud of his grandchildren. His face would light up every time they came to visit. He enjoyed getting up at the crack of dawn, driving to Glenavon for coffee with the local crowd and share his experiences from the day before. He took great pride and joy of helping out anyone that needed assistance on their farm, whether it required feeding horses and cattle to helping out on the field during seeding through to harvest. He could be trusted and relied upon to be there at a short notice. He enjoyed being around his friends and family to the fullest. A great man that will be truly missed by all.
A Celebration of his Life will be held in his honor on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. in St. Joseph R.C. Church in Candiac, SK. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bob’s name to the Kidney Foundation. You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence at the family’s online obituary at: www.MyAlternatives.ca
