Barrie Belles

July 20th, 2019

It is with great sadness that the family of Barrie Belles announces his passing on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the age of 71 years. He passed away peacefully amongst loved ones. He was predeceased by his wife Beverley and father Ernest Belles. Barrie is survived by his mother Christina Belles; sons Brad (Leah) and Ryan (Jennifer); grandchildren Cody (Ashley), Katelyn, Emily, Maura and Hayden Belles; great-grandchildren Baya and Knox Belles; and special friend Bette Ann Green. Barrie grew up in Grenfell, SK. He married Beverley and moved to Regina.  Barrie pursued his dream and love of coins and stamps and ran his own business for more than 50 years. We will miss his quick wit and stories he loved to tell growing up. We would like to thank everyone in the Palliative Care Team for taking great care of dad in his time of need. As per Barrie’s wishes there will be no funeral service.

He taught me how to tell a proper polish joke. I learned how to read a racing form from him. He tried to teach me that racing pigeons was a sport which i disagreed. He taught me that i should learn how to keep a straight face if i steal a sip of his whiskey at Christmas and try to deny it. He taught me how to be a good uncle and i wish i was a kid again.

I was so sad to hear of Barrie's passing. I last seen him on Canada Day and we had a great visit then. I will miss seeing and talking to him when I come to Regina and stopping by the coin shop to look at stuff. He was a nice friendly guy and I had alot of fun talking with him over the years. My foster daughter was with me once for hockey camp and he gave her a handful of world coins for her collection, she was so happy. I am so glad he introduced me to Brad so I can at least not feel both the lose of a friend and a great store too. God bless.

Sorry for your loss, we all lost a great person. I owe him a lot, he got me started with coins and taught me everything I know about them. The stories he use to tell me, jokes that he knew and just the general talking about life itself, I'll miss him.

To Brad and family, my deepest sympathies on the passing of your Dad. I got to know him through many conversations at his shop. He was a friendly and knowledgeable man and was of great help to me in my interest in coins. He is gone too soon and I will think of him often. God bless you all.

So very sorry to learn of Barrie's passing. I always enjoyed my vists with him at his shop. May God be with you in this time of sorrow.

Thinking of you at this time

We will really miss Barry. We had many memorial conversations with Barry in his usual common sense manner going back 25 years. A very sincere good man. Our most sincere condolenses to close family (especially Brad). We have lost a dear friend. He is in a better place with no pain or worries. God Bless Barry and God Bless all of you fine people who supported him.

My sincere condolences to Tina, Brad, Ryan and families. Such a charmer Barry was! We grew up in the same community and went to school together. He will certainly be missed by all who had the pleasure to know him. You are all in my prayers! RIP my friend!
