Murray Dale Hubick
December 10th, 2019
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Murray Dale Hubick on December 10, 2019 at the age of 56 years. He was predeceased by both parents, George and Helen Hubick. Left to treasure his memory are his wife Jackie (aka Prairie Lily); sons Tyrell (Kelsey), Dallas (Cheyanne) and the apple of his eye, his grandson Zavion; brother Perry (Cheryl) Hubick and sisters Lori Hubick and Lana Hubick; sister-in-law Carmen (Kathy) Johnson; nephews Dustin (Stephanie) Preece, Darren (Jill) Hubick, Jordan (Carolyn) Hubick, Kyle Hubick and nieces Tarrah (Kirk) Preece and Karla (Jason) Denis; great-nephew and niece Mikah and Eliza Hubick, in-laws Raymond and Gayle Johnson; family friend Glenn McNeil; and many other family and friends.
Murray was born May 26, 1963 in Regina, SK. He was proud of his Regina roots and being a north ender. Murray would light up a room with his laughter, smiles and his unique humor. He had nicknames for people, told jokes and mostly he liked to chirp his friends. Murray had a big heart and touched so many lives in a positive way. When out with him, he would always run into someone from his current or past world. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, Saskatchewan Roughriders, Boston Bruins, and Regina Pats. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the annual ski doo trip with the boys. Most of all he loved his family. He was Dallas and Tyrell’s biggest fan and he was so proud of them and their achievements. Murray’s legacy lives on in every one he came into contact with.
A Celebration of Murray’s Life will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Turvey Centre, 100 Armour Road, Highway 6 North, Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Kids Sport http://www.kidsportcanada.ca/saskatchewan/regina/Messages:
Dear Lana: My sincere condolences on the loss of your brother. The way you spoke of him I know he was a special part of your life and I can see he made a big impact on many people. Love to you and your family. Lisa Ann
My condolences to you and your family Jackie, my thoughts are with all of you.
I want to express my sincere sympathy to Murray’s family and friends. I know what a terrible loss you have had. I am also heartbroken. I was lucky to have the chance to work with him for several year at the Drug Treatment Court. He was a exceptional person with a real gift relating to people. He spoke often and with such love of his family. Especially his grandson. Often telling cute stories of what he had just said or done. It seemed he had no greater joy than just hanging out with this little one.Murrays genuine kindness and ethics were a inspiration to me. But what I marveled at the most was his ability to make even the most mundane tasks so much fun.His staff at the Center let him know how highly we thought of him. I recall a occasion that we had a small best boss ever lunch for him with staff and clients. The tone was light hearted but sincere. I think he will always be the best boss I will ever have and I have had some good ones.
I am sorry for your loss
Jackie, I am so sorry for your loss. My deepest condolences, my thoughts are with you and your family.

So sorry Jackie - we will keep the family in our prayers.
Our sincere condolences to the Hubick family on the loss of Murray. We were fortunate to have worked with Murray for many years. When we think of Murray the word kindness immediately comes to mind. Kindness was not just a word to Murray, it was the way he travelled and navigated through life. Murray demonstrated this with his interactions with both clients and co-workers; always encouraging and supportive; always leading with unconditional positive regard, and all delivered with a healthy dose of that famous Murray sense of humour! It was our privilege to have known Murray. He will always be missed and fondly remembered by us.
Jackie and family, we are so very sorry to hear of the loss of Murray. It just won't be the same without him, but we will try and remember all of the good times, the laughter and the prankster that he was. He always made me laugh and he enjoyed life to the fullest every single day. Murray was one of a kind for sure, and there is just no replacing him. Our deepest condolences to you all. We love you and are thinking about you. Lots of love always, Stephanie and Uncle Steve
I had the greatest pleasure of meeting Murray while completing my final practicum of Psychiatric nursing with CRT and COAST. My condolences to Murray's friends and family during this time. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Jackie, my deepest condolences to you and your family on your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
I worked with Murray when we were developing the Secure Youth Detox and later we worked together on a couple of projects. Such a likeable guy. We laughed a lot but worked hard too, to get the job done. His commitment to his clients, his warmth and his generosity was admirable. He was the rare kind of person where you just felt better after hanging out with him for a while. He’ll be missed. My deepest sympathy to Jackie and his children.

My deepest condolences to Jackie and your family. There are people in our lives that are forever engrained in us. Although I have only run into Murray a few times since high school his name would often come up in stories. He was one of those guys that could always bring a smile to your face. The world will be a sadder place without him. Take care of each other.
Jackie, my most sincere condolences to you and your family.
It was absolutely shattering to learn of Murray's death, and to you his family it must be so much more. His euphemisms, sharp wit and his "dig in to make it work" approach made him a pleasure to work with and even sorting through the toughest files he could make you smile. I hope you can find him with you and surrounding you to make you smile in the times to come.
So sorry for your loss. Thoughts and prayers ❤️
Sincere condolences to you Jackie and all the family. I knew "Stump" for nearly 30 years. Worked with him, coached football with him and laughed, mocked and bantered non stop. Always with nothing but fun in mind. He was incredibly kind and generous and cared deeply about people. Helping people and laughter stand out for me. As a human being they didn't come any finer. Which begs me to ask, "When shall we see your like again". Sheldon Neald, Regina, SK. Canada.
Our deepest condolences to Jackie and family. We had so many fond memories with Murray and family we will hold them dear to our hearts. Praying for you all during this difficult time with Love.

His passion to coach, teach and be a role model for everyone, was evident in his profession and in his spare time. He will be missed. Kelly Hamilton President Regina Minor Football

It is with tremendous shock and sadness that I learn of Murray’s passing. I got to know Murray when he travelled with friends to play fastball and hockey in Govan, SK. Murray was a great inspirational teammate and friend. The one common thread - Murray was a member of the Govan Red Sox fastball league championship in 1988 and the Govan/Semans Clippers hockey league championship in 1989. All the Best to Murray’s family and friends. Take care.

I'm so sorry to hear of Murray's passing. The first thought I had was of the memories of playing football in high school and of him helping me play the linebacker position. That and cheeky little giggle he had when he was going to line up an opponent.
Sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers to the Hubick family
This saddens me immensely. Condolences to all family and friends. Condolences Jackie and family and Perry and Cheryl. We’ve been in Calgary now for quite a few years but we used to go to Glen ELM Lutheran Church with you all years ago. I used to play in the Music Ministry with Darcy Nafe and my brother Kevin. We used to go out to your dad’s cabin and play lawn darts with all the Hubick family. Murray was always such a happy smiling and teasing around guy. We used to have a lot of laughs and a lot of fun. He actually took me up on a small plane for a ride a couple of times with his buddy who was a pilot. He always teased and laughed cause I was nervous. I’m sitting back thinking of all the enjoyable times with Murray and Jackie and Perry and Cheryl. I am so sorry to hear this. Much too young. But you know he’s rejoicing in Heaven right now. I’m so sorry. Again, condolences to all.
I knew Murray as a much respected colleague and leader, and as one of the most generous and compassionate mentors to so many. Sincere sympathy and condolences to family and everyone who knew him... a huge loss.

Sending the Hubick family a big hug. I am very sorry for your loss. I got to know Coach Hubick through Lakers football. No matter how rough the practices or games went he usually had a smile on his face. All of his football family loved and respected him. He was always checking in with me on how things were going when he found out my daughter was struggling with depression. Those small moments meant the world to me. He will be missed by his Lakers family.
Big time love and heartfelt condolences to Jackie, Tyrell, Dallas, Xavion, Dumb dumb, Extended Family and close Friends. It’s incomprehensible at this present moment in time to fully grasp that Stumpy is no longer with us. I have never seen someone so adored and admired by so many. From the poorest of the poor to the richest of the rich. His childlike persona mixed with sincere compassion for mankind, especially the underdog, will be missed by so many. He was my Mentor and friend. He saved lives. He was able to get through to young men in crisis like no other and in turn he became their hero. He was a great facilitator and coach as well. There was not much that he didn’t succeed at. What was special about Murray is that he loved to share those successes and inspire others to be successful as well. His many years working at PDYC, SYDC, Drug Court and the Crisis Team were invaluable to so many. He will be missed greatly and spoken of often.
My condolences to the family. I grew up with Murray and played hockey and ball with him. I will miss seeing him at the games and the conversations with banter back and forth.
