Messages:

Diane, I lost touch with you and the Oak family many years ago, but I have wonderful memories of Rick and all of you. I’m very sorry for your sad loss. May the countless happy times you shared with Rick bring you comfort. Hugs, Maureen

My condolences on the loss of Rick. Only met him once but he is unforgettable My sympathies as you grieve

I lost touch with Rick after high school, but always remember that he treated me with kindness and respect. He was a kind and gentle person. My condolences to the family.

I haven't seen Rick for many years but he was a teammate of mine with the Saskatchewan provincial wheelchair basketball team. He was very intense on the court as his competitive spirit was unmatched. A great teammate and friend with a wicked laugh. He was so mild off the court which shows his Fierce competitive nature. I also was a competitor against Rick in a wheelchair tennis and Rick and I competed International wheelchair tennis tournaments in Ottawa. I know I came in seventh and Rick did better than me. I also remember Rick playing in the final game in a tent tennis tournament in Vancouver and for some reason I was the Empire. I would like an Rick to John McEnroe in tennis and he was not happy when I made a call against him. But a total gentleman after the game. Rick will be missed and I'm very saddened. I look forward to catching up with friends that's his celebration of life. It will be a celebration of his life!

I admired his determination, strength, courage, independence, knowledge and that amazing smile that just made you happy! My sincerest condolences to all of his family and friends - such a loss much too soon.
