Larry Schultz

December 23rd, 1953 ~ October 16th, 2019

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father Larry Schultz, late of Lumsden, SK who passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 after bravely battling cancer over the past year. Larry will be forever loved and remembered by the love of his life, Lil, his devoted wife of 46 years; his son Andy and daughter-in-law Michelle; daughter Amy and loyal grand dog Oliver. He is also survived by his mother Linda; brothers Bob and Greg, and his sister Jennifer. Larry is also survived by close brothers-in-law Pat, Joe, and George along with their spouses and his favorite nurse Jeannette (niece) and her husband Les. Larry leaves behind many other family and friends which he held dear. Larry will be welcomed by his father Earl.

It was rare to see Larry without a grin on his face, as he derived great happiness from the experiences of his everyday life. Great joy came from affectionately teasing Lil from across the table at home or while travelling together, telling stories on the golf course with Tim and his Deer Valley Syndicate, and fishing and playing games with the lake crew. Larry also enjoyed an intense round of cards with cherished neighbors and special friends. Playing hide and seek along with extended ear scratch sessions with Oliver was a daily ritual that was never missed or overlooked. Visiting with Amy over morning tea, while contemplating life and making adventure plans, was always something to look forward to. Having supper at Andy and Michelle's, while sampling the newest craft beer or exotic rum while planning the next hunting trip, was always a joy. It was apparent to anyone that knew Larry, that he was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends. We thank everyone for bringing so much joy into his life.

Please join us for a Celebration of Larry’s Life at the Lumsden Community Centennial Hall, 40 – 3rd Avenue, Lumsden, SK on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 1:30 p.m.

In memory of Larry, donations may be made to the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan (www.cancerfoundationsask.ca) or The Palliative Care Unit at the Pasqua Hospital. The family extends its deepest gratitude to the doctors and nurses of the Palliative Care Unit for their compassionate care.
