Gilles Belliveau

December 24th, 2020

With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our much-loved husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa, Gilles. At the age of 87 years, he left us on Christmas Eve to celebrate his first Christmas in heaven with his daughter-in-law Leah and grandson Michael; as well as a multitude of family and special friends. He will live forever in the hearts of his wife Dorothy; children Brian (Roberta), Brenda (Tim) and Darrell; grandchildren Jillian (Rob), Amanda (Keith), Randi, Danny (Ashlan), Rick (Morgan), Christa (Brad) and Russ (Jolene); his 16 great-grandchildren who lit up his face like no one else could, Tristan, Lyrik, Hayden, McKennah, Corwin, Ledger, Liam, Grayson, Knox, Elodie, Charlotte, River, Kane, Ada, Serena and Archer. Also left with their own memories of Gilles are his twin brother Guy (Darleen); sisters Marcelle (Wes) and Joanne (Russ); extended family Bernice, Lillian, Linda, Marion, Erwin and Edna, Lilly and Marcel, and Laura; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and special friends. Whether he was sharing his tools, his knowledge or his time, in keeping with his generous and caring ways, in lieu of flowers we ask that you do something kind for someone, however small it may be. In memory of Gilles, donations may be made to the Regina Humane Society Inc., Box 3143, Regina, SK S4P 3G7 (www.reginahumanesociety.ca). Thank you to the Doctors and Nurses who cared for Gilles these past weeks and special thanks to Pastor Lynn for her visits and prayers. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

Messages:

My deepest condolences to the family. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Dorothy and family. Sharmaine and I extend our sincere condolences to you at this very difficult time. Giles warm smile, friendly face and kind nature will be missed but the memories he left with each of you will hopefully help you deal with this loss. I had the good fortune to meet Giles in 1967 when working at my first summer job at Inland Cement. Newbies are often taken advantage of by the regulars in a workplace however Giles was not that kind of man. He was quick to help out, offered good advice and always had a kind word. I appreciated him and many of his lessons served me well as I pursued my work career. I lost touch with Giles after I left Inland but happily reconnected when my cousin Tim married Brenda and we met at their wedding and thereafter at family gatherings. Isn't it interesting how good and influential people can return to your life. Thanks for being you Giles, and Rest in Peace.

Dorothy, Brian, Brenda & Darrell and families - We are sorry for your loss, our condolences, Rod/Betty Hodel.
