Dale Albin Simonson

October 7th, 2020

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of a Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend, Dale Albin Simonson.

Dale was predeceased by his father Helmer Simonson, mother Marion Simonson and his son Gary Simonson.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife Lori Simonson, son Gregory Simonson (Heather), daughter Kayla Kurcin (Kevin), grandchildren Madison Simonson, Sophia Kurcin and Bentley Kurcin, brothers Brian Simonson (Brenda), Terry Simonson, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Dale was born on April 27, 1956 in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. He grew up in Tribune until he moved to Regina in his teenage years. Dale always enjoyed road trips back to his hometown, which he experienced days before his passing.

Dale met the love of his life, Lori, in 1983. They got married in Banff, Alberta in 1994 at the Dynasty Hotel, which Dale had built. Together, they raised a family in Regina.

Dale’s passion has always been carpentry, rock and roll music, family, friends and of course his love for muscle cars, especially his 1969 Plymouth Sport Satellite. Since his early 20’s, he was a hard-working carpenter, where he was employed for over 40 years. When his youngest son Gregory followed in his footsteps and began to frame with him when he was of age, Dale could not have been prouder to pass on his legacy.

During Dale’s spare time, he enjoyed spending hours in his garage working on several wood projects and listening to rock and roll. He enjoyed when family and friends would come by where he would be proud to show them all of his accomplishments that he had built. Most importantly, his eyes always lit up when his grandchildren came to visit.

Dale will be greatly missed and his legacy will always live on in our hearts. He was a kind man who loved having people around him and he enjoyed talking about the good old days. Family and friends meant the world to him. Dale may not be here with us now, but he will never be forgotten and will be forever in our hearts.

Due to restrictions in place, a private graveside service to lay Dale to rest will be held and a Celebration of his Life will follow by invite only.
