Murray Charles Balbar
September 23rd, 2021
Murray Charles Balbar was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and passed away at the age of 78. Murray was predeceased by his parents Esther and Charles Balbar. He is survived by his siblings Alvin (Lorraine), Bob (Cindy), Dave (Sue), Deb (Wayne) and Bev (Don); his children with Carole and Nancy: Samantha (Armando), Kara, Krista (Pasquale), Brent (Brandy), Monica (Jamie), Michael (Danielle) and enough grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews to play a full tournament of hockey on an outdoor rink.
Murray was best known for his adventurous fun-loving "keep it simple" free spirit. He was a generous man who would quite literally give you the shirt off his back. As a young man he briefly served in the Canadian Navy and then went on to a successful career in Civil Engineering. Later in life he was fortunate to have been able to follow his true passion in the Horse Racing Industry. In his prime Murray was an avid golfer, bowler, loved camping and he never turned down a night out on the dance floor. He was a loyal Oilers fan, music lover and skilled Charlie Brown Christmas tree hunter. He was certain he barbequed the best steak and popped the tastiest buttery popcorn in town. Murray's intellectual wit and zest for life will be greatly missed by family and friends across the provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and British Columbia.
