Brenda Ann Marie Elder
September 6th, 2021
It is with deep sadness that we announce that Brenda Ann Marie Elder, late of Coronach, Saskatchewan, passed away on September 6, 2021 at the age of 70.
She was born to parents Arthur Murdoch and Lois Murdoch (nee Phillips) on April 11, 1951 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. At the age of 12, her family moved to Regina, Saskatchewan and then she moved to Coronach to begin a life with her husband Carl in 1984. They were married on August 1, 1986. Brenda loved working as a Continuing Care Aide and after 19 years of service she retired from the Coronach Health Center. She cherished all of the special time she spent with the “Golden Girls.” She enjoyed spending time playing Aggravation and laughing with her children and grandchildren, going for coffee, making jewellery, collecting semi-precious stones, practicing Reiki, reading, gardening and raising pigs. A few of her greatest accomplishments were having her children, becoming sober, being a farmer’s wife, learning to garden and “becoming my own person.” Brenda loved wearing fun lipstick, getting her hair done, shopping for new clothes and painting her nails as bright as her personality.
Brenda is survived by her husband of 35 years Carl Elder; son Garry Murdoch (Raeann); granddaughter Kayley Murdoch-Brace (Graham) and their daughter Violet; granddaughter Shelby Temple (Barid) and their upcoming baby; daughter Angela Murdoch (Dan); stepdaughter Carla Danielson (Tyler) and their children Natalie, Holly and Leah; stepdaughter Corry Auchstaetter and her children Dylan (Carla), Parker and Brody; stepson Mitchell Mohr (Lydia); daughter-in-law Tammy Smith (Richard) and their children Jason, Mel (Melanie) and Amy (Regan) and their families; stepson Kevin Mohr (Marilyn); along with her bestie Elaine Brenner, cat Baby and other fur-grandchildren. Brenda also leaves to mourn her siblings Fran Radfelder (Don), Bill Murdoch (Theresa) and Sheila Parsons; brothers-in-law Floyd Elder (Colleen), Ron Elder (Donna) and Lloyd Elder (Bonnie); sisters-in-law Wendy Terry (John) and Lois Elder; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her father Arthur Murdoch; mother Lois Murdoch (nee Phillips); sister Jan Willet (nee Murdoch); niece Cianna Parsons; father-in-law Ken Elder; and mother-in-law Melvina Elder.
Special Thanks to the Palliative Home Care Team and her family for the exceptional care.
Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. in Westhill Park Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 8025 Sherwood Drive, Regina, Saskatchewan with Linda Kirby officiating. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Regina Transition House or one of the Regina Community Fridges.
