We announce with heavy hearts the sudden passing of our Momma, Doreen Gabriel, on June 24, 2021 at the age of 85.
She was predeceased by her parents William and Rose Malbeuf; husband William Harold Gabriel; son Jonathan Christopher; her brothers Clarence, Hilliard, Richard and Gilbert; her sister Mary; and son-in-law James Bandas.
She is survived by her loving children Debbie (Ted), Holly, Diana (Calvin), Jamie (Ida), Linda (Willy), Bryce, Shawn, Shane, Naomi (Andy); daughter-in-law Alice; her sister Frances Munro and brother Clifford Malbeuf; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Doreen was born in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. She lived most of her adult years in Regina, Saskatchewan where she raised her family with her husband Harold.
Doreen was very proud of her Metis heritage and worked for many Metis Departments over the years in the province where she was known as SARGE by many. She was very proud of her families’ service in the Canadian Armed Forces and RCMP. Mom LOVED her hockey and spending time at the rink watching her boys and husband play, AND of course the HABS.
Doreen/Mom will be missed by her many friends, family and all that knew her.
There will be a private service for immediate family only. A Come and Go Tea for Mom’s many friends that she cherished will be held at a later date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Doreen can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
