Kenneth "Ken" Jacob Grad

It is with great sadness and broken hearts we announce the passing of Kenneth “Ken” Jacob Grad on December 25, 2021 at the age of 78 after a manful fight with cancer.
Ken was born on April 17, 1943 in Regina, SK. Ken was predeceased by his parents Jacob and Georgina Grad (nee Kuntz) and younger siblings Robert Grad and Anita Grad. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Lyla; daughter Kendra (Pieter), grandchildren Colton (Camila), Jillian (Daniel) and great-granddaughter Lucy; daughter Leasa (Todd) and granddaughter Erin; son Evvan (Dawn), grandchildren Nichole, Jacob and Christopher; daughter Brook (Jeff), granddaughter Capri, Codee (Logan) and great-grandchildren Ella, Karter, and Hayze. Ken is also survived by his sister Myrna Young, sister-in-law Rosemary Grad (Bud), brother-in-law Robert Weselowski, along with many special nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank the staff at the Regina Pasqua Hospital, Regina Pioneer Village and Regina Wascana Grace Hospice for their compassion and excellent care in the last few months.
Funeral Service to Celebrate Ken’s Life will take place on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Italian Club, 2148 Connaught Street, Regina, SK. We will be observing standard Covid-19 protocol for private indoor gatherings, masking is mandatory throughout the celebration.
In lieu of flowers, please pray that farmers will get more rain this year and that Ken’s buds in the entertainment industry will get a little more work.

Lyla and family. So sorry for your loss! Ken was an awesome guy and a great neighbour. I remember way back when we used to go to school at St Joseph’s Colony. Ever once in a while he would drive us. I remember that joking happy smile that he always had. He will be missed. Love and prayers!
Our memories go back to better times. From our travelling suppers to fishing trips, his wonderful smile, and his love for the farm. They will always be with us.
Lyla - I was really saddened when I heard about Ken. My deepest condolences to you and your family. I always liked working with Ken and we had some special moments together on the executive. Ken certainly added something positive and fun to the life of the stage hand in Regina a few years back.

So saddened by the passing of Ken. Gone are the days when we met at the rink watching our grandsons play hockey - great memories and lots of humorous chats. May fond memories of Ken's jovial spirit help you and the family through this sorrow.

My sincerest condolonces to Lyla and your family. I have the warmest memories of Ken, whether a humourous conversation during a quiet moment at a stage call, of his mentoring when I succeeded him as the IATSE Local 295's business agent, or just over coffee in Lyla's kitchen. He set the bar by conducting himself in a good way.

I am saddened to hear that Ken has left us. He was one of the first people to make me feel at home when I came to work at 295. He was a gentleman and a true friend.

I’m sorry to learn of this. I did not know Ken as an adult but we started grade one together at St. Joseph’s two room school. I remember him as a neat kid - we got along very well. My deepest sympathy.
