Dana Lynn Hingston
January 22nd, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dana Lynn Hingston at the age of 66 years in Regina, Saskatchewan. In spite of Dana’s incredible strength and determination, pancreatic cancer ended his life’s journey all too soon.
Dana was predeceased by his parents Kenneth and Victoria Hingston and older brother Alfred. Dana will be missed by his loving wife Marion (nee Hislop); his two daughters Jennifer Hingston (David) and Sarah (Mark) Jenkins; his sister Deanna Hingston; sisters-in-law Kathy (Barry) Lawless and Helen (Devon) Fornwald; nieces and nephews Chris Hingston, Pamla Hingston (Kevin), Angela (Nick) Kent, Anita Scott, Clayton (Kim) Lawless, Carmen Lawless, and Taylor and Jillian Fornwald and special friends. Dana was the proud Papa to his cherished grandchildren Hannah and Mason Jenkins.
Dana was born and raised in Regina and spent his career working for Agriculture Canada. Dana and Marion were married in 1978 and spent the next 42 years enjoying life with family and friends and their beloved dogs. Dana played and coached baseball and football; he enjoyed slo-pitch, camping, downhill skiing, and golfing; he always looked forward to the annual Madge Golf Trip with the guys. Several times they travelled to the West Coast to visit family and friends and later, Mexico. Dana was forever an unwavering fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Saskatchewan Roughriders. He was a great cook, but most of all he will be remembered as a dedicated and proud father and grandfather. Friends will remember Dana as a kind, gentle and honest man. He will be missed.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of Palliative Care for their expert care and compassion that was received by Dana and the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dana’s memory to the Regina Humane Society (www.reginahumanesociety.ca), Box 3143, Regina, SK S4P 3G7 or a charity of your choice.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be a Private Family Graveside Service with a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Sorry to hear of Dana's passing. He was a great guy and I remember him fondly. His love for his family always came first and his skills on the diamond were exceptional. It was great to play beside him.
I am so very sorry to hear of Dana's passing. I worked with Dana at Agriculture and he was a steady force for our HR team. Many employees sought out his expertise and he always made the time to help people, no matter who you were or how busy he was. Dana was such a kind soul and always early in the office. I recall many of our morning chats quickly turning from work to his beautiful family, he spoke so lovingly of Marion, Jennifer and Sarah and when the grandchildren came along, that was certainly a source of pride and pure joy - you could see it in his face. I know Dana will be missed by many. My sincere and heartfelt condolences to you Marion, Sarah and Jennifer and your families.
Dana was a great guy. I have nothing but fond memories of him during our time together at PFRA. Always helpful and friendly and easy to chat with. We played flag football together, and he even tossed to ball to me on occasion. He probably shouldn't have, but he did. Very sad to hear of his passing, but hopefully his family takes comfort in knowing what a positive impact he had on those of us fortunate enough to know him.
I will always remember uncle Dana as a kind and gentle soul, nothing was more important to him than his family. He will be greatly missed. Sending Marion, Jenny and Sarah all our love at this time and always.

Marion, we are all so sorry to learn of Dana's struggle with cancer and his passing. He was a kind and gentle man, called Home, far too soon. I have fond memories of cousin Dana, who was always present, yet quiet and gentle. In the mid '60's his family had a little brown dog named Cookie, who was always by his side. Cookie was Dana's buddy. I remember times when we went somewhere by car, Cookie, would be tucked in quietly inside Dana's jacket, coming along for the ride. The two were a pair. Always very gentle and sweet times. May fond memories help to sustain you through these difficult times. And know many people are sending their care and love to you and your family. May Dana Rest in Peace.
