Sharon Joy Hoff
November 1st, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce Sharon passed away on November 1, 2021 after a courageous seven-month battle with cancer.
Sharon was born to Charles and Jessie Horning on August 2, 1941. As an only child, Sharon decided to fulfill her life with 5 children Ken, Cathy (Rene), Michele, Cindy (predeceased) and Allan (Robyn), giving her 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
After retiring, Sharon’s devotion to animals had her volunteering for the Regina Humane Society where she received the Volunteer of the Year Award. Her love for animals also had her using her knitting skills by creating items for the B.C. group “Tiny Kittens” contributing to their fundraising projects. Sharon was never without animals in her life which always brought her much joy.
The family would like to extend their utmost thanks and appreciation to Regina Wascana Grace Hospice for their exceptional support and care provided to Mom in her last few weeks.
Sharon will be missed by her family and close friends. As per Sharon’s request, there will be no funeral service but a private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of gifts, donations may be made to Wascana Grace Hospice (www.williamboothregina.ca/regina-wascana-grace-hospice) or the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca).
Messages:
Sharon was blessed with wonderful children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. May you all hold deep in your hearts that the gifts she gave you are yours forever - her laughter, her words of wisdom, the memories you all created together and apart were her gifts of love. A mother is always and forever your mother.
My deepest condolences to your family, Matthew, Cammeron and Hunter. My love to you forever..
My deep sympathies Hunter to you and your family.
My heart breaks for you Michele. Your Mom had a huge heart and we shared a love for animals. Her compassion and care for animals puts her in a rare category of human beings. She will always have my great respect. Sending much love to all of you.
We are so sorry for your loss, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.
I met Sharon years ago while volunteering at the Humane Society. Her dedication to all the animals was truly admired. We lost touch over the years but we connected again via Facebook. It was so nice to pop in and purchase her knitted dish cloths she produced for “Tiny Kittens”, a rescue group we both supported. Sharon was a sweet soul who loved animals and worked hard to make sure many of them got a second chance. From me and all the animals who benefitted from your true dedication, thank you!!
