Joseph Alan Leepart
May 21st, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Alan Leepart who passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Friday, May 21, 2021 after his valiant fight with cancer.
Joe was an undeniably hard worker whose roofing career took him across Canada and provided him many enjoyable experiences and long-lasting friendships. When Joe wasn’t roofing, he spent time working alongside Marie in the horse racing business. It was during this time that he developed a love of horses which remained the entirety of his life. He always looked forward to hearing about the horses during his regular visits with his family still in the business.
Those who spent any amount of time with Joe quickly learned that he was truly one of the good guys. If someone needed help, Joe was there. He had a mind for problem solving, the hands for fixing things, and a heart of gold. He had a passion for animals which guaranteed he always had a canine companion by his side. It was well known that Joe’s lap was reserved for his sweet Deja. Joe always had a smile on his face and was grateful for each day. He enjoyed cheering on the Riders and Jays, delighted in friendly banter while playing cards, and loved fishing at the lake and visiting and reminiscing around the campfire.
Joe will forever be loved and missed by the love of his life Marie Stone; extended family Merla, Douglas, Johnathon, Cheryl, Royce, Jeffery and Anna; along with all of his nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored their uncle and grampy. Joe is survived by his loving brothers and sister George (Vi), Bill (Tammy), Pat and Lil. He was predeceased by his brothers and sister Bob, Calvin and Fran. Joe leaves behind many other family members whom he held close to his heart.
Joe did not wish for a funeral. The family thanks all who have expressed their condolences and support. In memory of Joe, donations may be made to the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan (https://cancerfoundationsask.ca/donate/).

We were saddened to hear that Joe passed away and are so sorry for your loss. I still have the Leader Post article and picture of Joe and Mark working on the roof of the church on 13th Avenue. They looked like little ants on the church. Joe was such a nice guy and will be remembered fondly. Heartfelt thoughts go out to you and your family in this time of sorrow.
