Messages:

To the Family of Syl Michaluk: Reflections... For our family he will always be affectionately remembered just as “Uncle Syl”. Early on we took advantage of his knowledge in the natural gas field as he became our very own furnace advisor/inspector. He installed natural gas logs in our downstairs fireplace for us. Uncle Syl could have just as well have been called 'Mr. Hospitality'. When you were a guest in his home you were generously presented with much good food to consume, and he would never allow you to have a half empty glass for very long. I personally consumed an embarrassing amount of his rum over the years that we socialized together... As a matter of regular practise, our families celebrated numerous special occasions together each year with birthdays, graduations, Ukrainian Christmas Eve and Christmas Days. In terms of sports, Uncle Syl always kept us up to date on the progress of his favorite teams. He didn’t just talk about it, but he also travelled out of province to show his support for his teams in person. Uncle Syl took full advantage of the opportunities he had to enjoy his life whether by his attendance at Rider Games or generously giving of his time to help at St. A’s parish to maintain its excellent reputation. When you read the words “A life well lived”, you should immediately think of our Uncle Syl and know that he checked off all of the boxes to warrant that distinction!

We extend our deepest condolences. I hope that the love and support from family and friends, including us, get you through this time. Wishing you comfort and strength. Thinking of you often. Hugs
