Matilda "Tilly" Overholt

January 18th, 2021

Matilda “Tilly” Overholt (nee Polowski) was born on December 19, 1922 and passed away in Regina, SK on January 18, 2021 at the age of 98.

Tilly was one classy lady. I don’t think she ever in her entire life owned a pair of sweatpants or a sweatshirt. You wouldn’t catch her without her best attire on and hair perfectly set even though she would walk nearly everywhere she ever went, rain or shine. She loved family events such as Christmas but mostly her birthday parties. She was really looking forward to having her big 100th but God had special plans for her instead. She was funny, kind, selfless and very generous; always thinking of everyone but herself.

Tilly was predeceased by her husband Byrrh (Bob) Overholt; parents George and Anna Polowski; her sisters Mary and Lena; brothers Leo, Nick and Frank; daughter Mary Ann Zipchian (Ron); daughters-in-law Marilyn and Rose; and grandson Scott. She is survived by her four sons Ron, Don (Bernie), Roger and David; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and their spouses along with many nieces and nephews.

Tilly was loved by many and will be missed dearly. “More precious was the light in your eyes then all the roses in the world.”

We would like to thank the staff at the Santa Maria Care Home where she spent her final years. Their hard work and kindness towards Tilly will never be forgotten.

A private family and friends Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Messages:

Roger, Ron and family Our deepest condolences at this sad time. May you find comfort in your memories.

Deepest sympathy to the Overholt family. We have many great memories of the family. We moved to Regina 1963 and were next door neighbors to the Overholts. I went to St. Peter’s school and Sophie and I went to Thom Collegiate with Ron, Don and Mary Ann. My parents lived next door to the Overholts from 1963 until 2005. Sophie also worked at Sears distribution centre where Marilyn worked. Tillie lived a long life and was very proud of her family. May she Rest In Peace.

Chad, Tenley, Jayden & Zach our sincere condolences on the passing of your grandmother & great grandmother. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Big hugs.

Condolences to all the Overholt family. I remember all the good times our family had with all of you. Vivid memories of the good times at the Overholt cabin at Katepwa, Tilly and Bob always loves to entertain and fun was had by all. Tilly will me missed and I am sure Tilly and my Mom (Iris) are having a drink together. We have another angel watching over us today!

We were very sad to hear of Tillie’s passing. Our sympathies to all of her family.
