Mary Margaret Purves

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our wonderful mom, Mary Purves, on June 20, 2021.
Mom died peacefully at home with us by her side after a very courageous battle with cancer. True to her nature, Mom fought this battle with tremendous grace, dignity, strength, and fierceness. We are so proud of you Mom. You were and always will be the strongest and most determined woman we know.
She was predeceased by her husband Morris (Moe); her brothers Walter, Donald and Clifford Welz; in-laws Bill Bee, Alan and Shirley Purves, Stan and Amy Purves and Orval and Mona Purves. Mary is survived by her children Mark and Marla; her sister Shirley (Erwin) Podolski; sisters-in-law Doris Bee, Valerie Welz and Olga Christoph; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Mom’s home care nurse Colette. We cannot adequately express how much we appreciate all you did for Mom over the past 9 months. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you.
We would also like to thank the Palliative Care Team for your assistance in navigating these last difficult days. We appreciate your support and guidance in helping us make Mom’s final journey a peaceful one that could take place at home.
As per Mom’s wishes there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
Rest in peace Mom. We will always love you and will miss you more than we can express. Until we are able to travel the skies together again....
