Muriel Ross
March 9th, 2021
Muriel Ross passed away peacefully on March 9, 2021 at age 70. Muriel was born in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, the third oldest of eleven children. Her parents were Mary LaRonde and Alphonse Laliberte.
She spent her early years living in Green Lake, Saskatchewan with her grandparents, Aldina and Clement Laliberte. In grade 6, she moved to Prince Albert, Saskatchewan to live with her mother and siblings. Later she moved to Regina where she made her home until she died.
Muriel’s life revolved around her family. She became a single parent in 1968 when her daughter was born. She met and married her husband, Albert (Don) Ross in 1971. She became a stepmom to his four sons from a previous marriage and later had her own son in 1972 with Don.
She spent over 30 years working for the Province of Saskatchewan in the records department. She loved the simple pleasures of cooking, baking and was an avid gardener cultivating vegetables and flowers.
Throughout her life, she loved spending time with her family, often travelling throughout the Prairies for family events, gathering her sisters around the table to play cards for hours on end, laughing and sharing inside jokes. Lately her passions were for puzzles and curling where she cheered on the teams for a win.
Muriel will always be remembered for her wonderful laugh. She didn’t take life too seriously and didn’t dwell on the negatives. She gave you her full support and never judged you. She had a quiet strength within her that showed up as kindness, forgiveness and gentleness in the way she treated others.
She will be forever missed by those that love her. Thank you, Muriel, for the joy and warmth you brought into our lives. We know you are now having fun in heaven with your heavenly family.
She is survived by her daughter, Dawn-Marie Hugh, grandchildren, Jacob and Alyssa Hugh. Her son, Shawn Ross. Her stepsons, Garry Ross, Donald (Bonny) Ross, Rodger Ross and Dwayne Ross; and their children. Siblings, Darlene (Randy) Desjarlais, Edna (Don) Willis, Freda (Walter) Jesse, Mavis LaRonde, Janet (Jack) Laliberte, Judy LaRonde, and Rick LaRonde and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her heavenly family members are Aldina and Clement Laliberte, Mary LaRonde and Alphonse Laliberte, Alma and Tammy Scobey, Donna LaRonde, Verna Bourque, and Michael LaRonde along with many other family members and friends.
Memorial details will be shared with immediate family members. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
