The big guy at Costco will be missed, I know I will continue to look for my cousin when entering the store, with that patented beard, and jolly presence. Gone too early in life. My sincere condolences to his entire family. gord

So very sad to hear that our dear friend Darren has passed away. Although I have not been able to see Darren for many years, I recall all of the great times we had all those many years ago. Never shy to give his candid opinion and interesting perspective, Darren was a wonderful addition to any event, big or small. It never seems fair to lose someone so good so soon, but the pain is softened by thinking of all the good memories that we shared. Darren, we will miss you terribly, but know that you will rest in peace.

Every morning while leaving work, Darren would be at the door and I would say “hey santa!” I’m going to miss him dearly, my deepest condolences to the family. I have nothing but fond memories of Darren.

I am so sorry to hear of Darren's passing. I worked with Darren and the 777's club and throughout the years always made sure to track him down when I went to Costco. You will be missed Big D. My sympathies to the family.

Dear Candy, Jamie, Aaron, Teddy and Alex, My heart dropped and tears fell when I saw Darren's photo. When I went to Costco, I always hoped that he would be there to greet me and that no one was behind me so I could stop and chat and catch up on the family. He loved to talk about his family. I will always remember that about him - a warm, loving and accepting family man. This comes through in his photo. I wish I was in Regina to be able to attend the Funeral Mass and give you all a hug. My thoughts will be with you as I watch the live stream. Thank you for that privilege.

Darren was my Costco brother. Always pleasant and a great coworker. I’m really going to miss are bantering back and forth. RIP Darren. My sincere condolences to his wife Candy(I’m glad we got to spend time together at the Christmas party) and to to children and grandkids. He will be remembered fondly.

Candy, Jamie, Aaron and all of Darren's family, I'm so very sorry to hear the news of Darren's passing. I do hope that the happy memories of the times you shared together provide some comfort at this time of sorrow. Darren always had time for a quick chat when I ran into him at Costco. He truly was a gentle giant and one of a kind.

Candy, Jamie and Aaron, may God's peace truly be with you. Trudy and I send our deepest condolences. We will miss the frequent waves from Darren when he passed our house, the countless greetings from him at Costco, his amazing smile and his gift of remembering peoples names, he always called us by our first names, always. We are truly blessed for knowing him. Eastview mourns with you.

I knew Darren long before I worked with him at Costco. He was a great guy and a very kind soul. Somehow he was still a nice guy even when he was throwing you out of a bar back in the day. Rest Easy Big D

Dear Candy, Aaron, Jamie (Hehn) & families we are shocked & saddened by this terrible news. All our prayers are with you & your families ... as you move through this difficult time, please remember the good times, not the sad. Take care, stay safe & God Bless Bernie, Chris, Megan & Shauna Flynn

Darren, I miss you already. We had just talked to one another on the phone around the time of your birthday. I miss you brother. I have known Darren for nearly 50 years, worked and partied with him, laughed with him until there were tears in our eyes. Now I get tears in my eyes just thinking of all the times we spent together. We used to cruise the Albert St strip and Wascana Park in the 80's. He helped me move out to Vancouver in 1990. He was always there to help. We bounced people out of the Plains Hotel, jeez we had fun. We worked the Rider games together as security through the 80's. We would go to Burger Baron late at night while cruising the "strip' in Regina. 7-11 Super Big Gulps. Old Man Barry's outdoor parties, Wascana Trails parties. Listened to him play Bonnie Tyler Total Eclipse of the Heart at full volume over and over again. There is just so much we did and so many memories come to me every day since your passing. I miss you buddy, I really do. I hope you are doing well Darren and you have found peace. I know the "boys" miss you also. Ferg, Scott, Bruce, Paul, Graham, we all feel the loss. To Candy and family, my condolences. This is a huge loss for you and the family. Just know, Darren wants you to continue to move forward. If there is anything you need, even if it is just an ear to listen, call me. Darren was a big guy with an incredible heart and I know he is going to want a "big party" with all his friends present. Let's all work together to make it happen, let's bring everyone together to celebrate Darren. Let's all laugh together at the stories and experiences we all had with Darren in our lives! I can't wait.

I grew up in same neighbourhood as Darren and all. We are cousins from his mom's side. It was an honour to have been your cousin and play as children. Please accept my condolences to family and friends. RIP dear cousin.

Please accept our sincere condolences on Darren’s passing. In the past my wife and I had the pleasure of speaking with Darren and we were taken by his caring personality. He was a true gentleman. Rest in peace Darren.
