Curtis Andrew-Lee Exner
January 16th, 2022
He enjoyed hanging out and playing video games with friends, playing card and board games with his family, and was an avid reader. Growing up he played football, soccer and had a successful high school wrestling career at Archbishop M.C. O'Neill from where he graduated in 2018. He recently reignited his soccer career by joining a men's soccer team and playing alongside his dad, something he was very excited about.
On weekends Curtis worked as a cook at Boston Pizza on Starlite since 2019. Growing up Curtis always expressed his desire to become a baker – not a chef but bake all the sweets and treats. Curtis had a real passion for his current job, as a Pest Control Technician for Ecopest in Regina. He successfully passed his licensing exam on his first try. It was his goal to move to Calgary and take on a larger role within the company.
Curtis also loved animals, especially his cat 'Orange' who he leaves behind. Curtis loved to go to his mom’s to just hang out with the ‘boys’ Berlioz, Raymond, Mogi and Dexter. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hiking in the mountains and spending time at the beach and Pasqua Lake. Growing up Curtis had little to no fear. He loved the thrill of roller coasters, the highlight being a trip to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio.
He loved travelling and went on many family vacations. Curtis also travelled for soccer or wrestling tournament trips every year. The pinnacle was in 2014 when he was fortunate enough to be a part of the team that represented Saskatchewan at Club Nationals for soccer in Charlottetown, PEI. It was his first and only time on the East Coast and he played incredibly well.
Most importantly, Curtis had a deep love for his family, and as the oldest, he was a protector, mentor and positive influence to his siblings. He was an excellent friend and the best uncle. Curtis loved being around the young babies and toddlers. He would go visit family and friends but spent his time on the floor playing with the kids.
Curtis was predeceased by his grandpa Robert Exner, his stepmother Jessica Jakubowski, and his niece Kinsliegh.
He leaves behind his mother Christine Wilson (Justin Gibson) and their children Kieran (Tristan), Brooklyn and Avah; as well as his father Richard Exner, and his children Jacob and Alexis.
Also, surviving are his grandparents Charlotte and Jeff, Koreen and Nick, Donelda, Harv and Val, and many aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins and extended family who will all sorely miss Curtis.
A Private interment for the family will take place on February 11, 2022. A Celebration of Life will follow on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the Turvey Centre, 100 Armour Road, Highway 6 North, Regina, SK of which all family and friends are welcome to attend. Attendees will be required to show proof of double vaccination. Masking will also be a requirement. Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services (Regina) and Serenity Funeral Services (Edmonton) are in care of the arrangements.

I have just learned about Curtis' passing. I am so sad that your beautiful boy had to leave. My heart goes out to you all. I have many fond memories of him reading the BIGGEST books and breaking his front tooth in the gym. He was a little ball of energy and joy. I am grateful I got to teach him. Hugs and love to you all.
