Sam Gherasim
August 26th, 2022
Sam Gherasim passed away peacefully on Friday, August 26, 2022 at the age of 90 years. He was born in Dysart, SK on September 20, 1931. Sam was predeceased by his wife Eileen Gherasim, and his parents John and Vera Gherasim.
Sam is survived by his daughters Janet (Rick), Diane, and grandchildren Jordan (Reiss), Emersen, Tristen.
Sam was born in Dysart on the family farm where he helped his dad run the farm from an early age. He moved to Regina and gave up farm life when he met Eileen and they started a family.
Sam and Eileen raised their daughters in Regina, SK. Sam retired from SaskTel at the end of his long career. He held many jobs throughout his life. Once he retired, Sam and Eileen loved to travel and spent many seasons in Arizona, as well as numerous other warm destinations to escape the cold Saskatchewan winters.
Sam loved to play cards and spent lots of time in retirement playing Wist with family and friends.
Dad was a farmer at heart and really loved the land. He and Eileen had many beautiful gardens throughout the years.
The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the Nurses and Caregivers of the Fillmore Health Centre who filled Sam’s last 7 months with love, kindness, and compassion. We are so grateful for the wonderful care he received. We would also like to extend a special thanks to Bev Kulcsar for all the caring, kindness and devotion you showed for dad over the years. It is appreciated beyond words.
Upon request, no service will be held. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (www.heartandstroke.ca).Messages:
