Dale Nicholas Kozmanuk

February 13th, 2022

It’s with great sadness to announce the passing of Dale Nicholas Kozmanuk on February 13, 2022 at the age of 68.

Dale is survived by his spouse Kathy and her daughter Jennifer (husband John), son Steve, son John and Kathy's grandchildren Rachel, Ashley and Joshua. He is also survived by his sister Elaine, Elaine's children Rob (wife Val), Marla (husband Brody), Crystal (husband Les) and his great- nieces and nephews Jordan, Nathanial, Connor, Carter and Blakeney.

Dale was born in Canora, SK in 1953 to his predeceased parents Nick (2005) and Mary (1977). He was also predeceased by Elaine's husband Bob (2008).

Dale was a very responsible son, working on his family's farm and in their General Store. He graduated high school in Sturgis, SK in 1971. He moved to Regina and worked at Kaufmanns and then Alford's Furniture as a warehouse manager for over 20 years. Dale wanted a chance to run his own business so he bought a Trifon's Pizza location on Dewdney Avenue across from the RCMP training centre. His generous portions, personalized recipes and free giveaway promotions attracted more and more customers to turn it into a thriving business. After selling his franchise he jumped at the chance to work for his nephews at Best Buy Auto Parts starting in July of 2013.

Dale loved fishing. He deeply cherished accompanying his buddies for week-long fly in fishing trips to remote parts of the province. His love for music and knack for electronics combined for fun experiences over many years being part of the sound crew at gigs for the band "The Blazers''. He loved photographs and would rather be taking them than being in them. He enjoyed taking his nephews up on their offer to take him on free week-long trips to Las Vegas.

Dale and Kathy worked well together during various home renovation projects for themselves and family members. Dale enjoyed spending time with Elaine and her immediate and extended family. He made sure that he attended all those gatherings and meals. Dale would leave with a full belly and full heart. Everyone knows him as loyal, kind, loving, humble and hardworking man and will be truly missed as a special friend. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at the Regina General Hospital Unit 5A and SICU Unit for the care provided to Dale in his last days.

A gathering to celebrate Dale's life will be held on April 16, 2022. For further details please contact Les LeMaire at:  lesbestbuy@sasktel.net

So sorry to hear about Dale! My parents both worked with Dale at Alfords, & my dad went on a few of those fishing trips with him. The last time I saw Dale, was at a "Blazer" reunion at the Italian Club. There he was doing his thing, & enjoying the music. A great way to remember him!

I am so saddened to hear of Dale's passing. I loved visiting Dale and Elaine back at the farm by our little school house, Ormsby. Also everyone always looked forward to the country store. Big comforting hugs to Elaine and all of Dale's family.

Saddened to hear of Dale’s passing. Great memories of our get togethers in the olden days for Ukrainian Christmas. Our sympathy to all the family.

So sorry to receive this tragic news of Dale's passing. We met Dale in the late 70's as I worked closely with him at Alfords for many years. Our friendship grew over the years outside of work as we had many family camping trips together as well as just hanging out in his basement enjoying great music on his fabulous sound system. Many great memories to cherish over the years. Our deepest condolences to the family. He was a wonderful guy.

So sorry to hear of this and for your loss. Although it has been many years since Lori and I worked with Dale at Alford's, we were so grateful we were able to have had the opportunity to know him as a coworker and friend. There are some that stay with you and Dale was definitely one.
