Eileen Beverley Montgomery
September 28th, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eileen Beverley Montgomery (nee Zinn) on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 76.
Eileen was born to Jack and Florence Zinn (nee Davey) on June 24, 1946 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. She married Robert (Bob) Montgomery on September 5, 1969 and together raised two children Marshal and Marlis. Eileen was an amazing wife and mother, always making them her number one priority. Her generous and caring nature endeared her to all those who knew her.
Eileen is predeceased by her parents; older brother Jack Zinn; older sister Karen Fuchs (nee Zinn); nephew Cory Fuchs; and best friend Cec Welsh.
Eileen is survived by her husband Bob; her children Marshal (Cattalia) and Marlis (Justin); her granddaughters Brittany, Ashley, Maysyn and Haley; her grandsons Reuben and Byron; her great-granddaughter Willow; younger sister Rae (Frank); younger brother Roy (Lorrie); numerous beloved nieces and nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews; and her previous daughter-in-law Sallie whom she remained close to and thought of as a daughter.
After retiring from SGI in 2014, Eileen loved nothing more than watching all the activities of her extended family including a myriad of sports, dance performances and rodeo events. Her extracurricular time also consisted of watching curling and the CFL. Of course, she always had favourite teams which were usually the underdogs. Another favourite past time was coffee with her friends which she very rarely missed. Eileen also enjoyed gardening, sewing and knitting.
There are many people Eileen loved throughout her life and she was grateful to know you all. Thank you to her family who supported her and were by her side, especially in the last few weeks. A special thank you to her sister Rae and niece Nancey who were there at a moment’s notice, constantly at the hospital or at her home getting anything she needed whenever she needed it. A special thank you to her son–in–law Justin Kaiswatum who was there for Eileen throughout the years especially in the last few weeks. They had a special relationship and were very close. Special thanks to Christopher Redman whom she took as a grandson. Eileen was grateful for everything he did for her in the last few months of her life.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honour this great woman.
