Lloyd George Nelson

December 8th, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of Lloyd George Nelson announces his passing on December 8, 2022 at the age of 82. Lloyd was born on February 18, 1940 in Kincaid, SK to Margaret and Clifford Nelson. He grew up in Moose Jaw, SK where he met his wife Sandra Baird. They married in 1963. They raised two children, Wendy and Mark, in Regina, SK.

Lloyd began a career working in the automotive industry as a partsman. He was recently recognized for his 50 years of service to Capital (Percival) Ford and at 82 was still happily working 3 half days a week at Capital Ford, his second home. The family would like to thank everyone at Capital Ford for the friendships and support through the many happy years he enjoyed there.

He loved living on the acreage, driving the tractor and enjoying the park-like setting he created.

He loved visiting family in Moose Jaw, Regina, and at the farm near McCord, SK. He especially enjoyed the visits with the Minnesota and Wisconsin cousins when they traveled to Saskatchewan.

Most of all he loved his family and will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 59.5 years, Sandy, children Mark and Wendy, sisters-in-law Bonnie (Rob) and Dianne, cousins and friends Sharon Andersen and Ralph Dods, and beloved dogs Benny and Suki, as well as many other close friends and family. He will be sadly missed, never forgotten, and always in our hearts.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Regina General Hospital Emergency Unit 3F and especially on Unit 3E and Drs. McCarville, Reesen, Richels who fought so hard for Lloyd.

A Celebration of Lloyd’s Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, we ask donations to the charity of your choice be made in Lloyd’s name.
